Why would they deny you entry for visiting your husband?
I entered the U.S. on a fiancee Visa and we married 3 days later but the Chief neglected to file for the Change of Status, I did know about the medical loophole which the Dept of Homeland Security has so I went every year and had a medical by an approved U.S. Civil Surgeon. Because at one time I had been exposed to a girl with an active case of TB my “scratch test” always reads as positive so I must have chest x-rays which as you know cost money, that money pretty much puts an end to applying for the green card because I honestly point out the fact of my exposure before a scratch test is administered. We did have all the money last year and I had the medical but then when I was told by the fed employee to “go back to Canada...” which bothers me because I never mentioned I was from Canada, the Chief used the green card money to come up when I had my masectomy and my hip surgery. DHS and Customs Officials would be concerned that I planned on staying in the U.S. and living off of welfare so they would deny me entry especially with the absence of the required green card. The first year I had the medical (before the prices rose so high we had the money but then my younger daughter asked me to get her a computer so she could do her homework and be able to get a job but she would pay me back, she did get a good job with great benefits but never paid me back) so that was the first green card. Now I will be unable to say I am married to a U.S. citizen because I broke the terms of the Visa, I was NOT to leave the U.S. until I had possession of a green card and the Idaho state govt and even the governor knew that. I also encountered the head of the Dept of Health and Welfare in ID, one Richard “Dick” Armstrong who “retired” from his job as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Blue Cross on June 1st 2006 and was named as head of H & W by Gov Risch on June 6th, 2006. Talk about conflict of interest and there it is in black and white. Armstrong actually sent printed out copies of the requirements of people applying for a K-1 (fiancee) Visa and he failed to read on the right hand side of the page where it stated that the foreign spouse MAY apply for a green card, it did NOT say the foreign spouse MUST apply for a green card. I couldn’t find a lawyer to represent me, We began receiving bills for the mammograms and biopsy and we contacted Senator Mike Crapo’s Idaho Falls office where one of his aides was assigned to the case. Each week the Chief would phone and ask how he was progressing and each week he got the same message from the aide that he was working on it. This went on for two months before finally the truth came out that he hadn’t been doing a damned thing. We were between a rock and a hard place and when I received the phone call from the Fed employee it was devastating news to me. We are proud people and we don’t accept charity but cancer was definitely beyond our means. I have been hospitalized in the past and we are still paying it off a little each month but we are paying it off. I began searching and when I typed in “Financial Assistance for breast cancer treatment in Idaho” all that I got for an answer was Medicaid and I had been turned down by them. At that point I could see no other option but to do exactly what the fed employee had suggested but it left a very bitter taste in my mouth and both the Chief and myself have suffered healthwise since the separation. I truly belong at his side and yet I feel like the federal and state governments conspired to get a determined woman out of the U.S. and it was so easy, totally ignoring the fact that I was one of the legal immigrants! They also totally ignored the millions of dollars of mistakes made daily by the Dept of Health and Welfare in ID which are never corrected. They ignored the violation of my privacy rights as if I was a non person and the illegals get more rights than I did. Where was my due process as stated in the 14th Amendment? I never got due process. I didn’t break any laws, I didn’t work illegally, I am an Award winning teddy bear artist that makes teddy bears from recycled fur coats. What harm am I to either the state or federal governments? It doesn’t make sense. I haven’t had the best of treatment in Canada either so I simply don’t know what to think anymore. I live in the region which has been called Interior Health but I refer to it as Inferior Health where each room is wired for sound and video and even the patient’s phone calls are recorded. When I was in hospital in June I had over $2208 U.S. worth of insulin with me and when I was discharged I asked for it and the doctors looked at me like I had been dreaming that I had the insulin, they had sudden amnesia. If the medical system in the U.S. becomes as bad as it is in this area everyone will be angry and more than upset. I was speaking with the woman I originally shared a room with when I had the hip replacement in Dec. and she informed me that she was given hell for even speaking to me while I shared a room with her for five days! Now all this time I had thought Canada was a democracy, I must have been mistaken and it suddenly changed into a dictatorship overnight, or at least one of its hospitals did! My message now is to fight for all you are worth to make sure that what I have just typed does NOT happen in the U.S.!
Wow, I am so sorry. I grew up in an area that is high illegals and snowbirds from Canada so I see what Candaian healthcare is like (thats why it can be a 6 month wait for a doctor in CA) and how they coddle the illegals.
I wish I knew a lawyer in Idaho for you, but I’m sorry I do not.
There is NO reason for you to be separated from you husband, especially now. Have you thought about going public on this, try to get Idaho media to tell your story and put some pressure to get you in to see your husband, even if it is only temporary?
BTW, how is CE? I’ve been praying for you both.

Even when I was taking over 100 units of insulin a day I never ever took more than 50 units at one time and I was taking that amount of insulin because of the lousy doctors up here. I am very quickly seeing how very different the medical situation is up here compared to in the U.S. I still cannot believe that when I was admitted to the E.R. in June for CT scans and MRI’s etc that they stole over $2208 US worth of insulin which I had brought into the country for my own personal use! They have sound AND video capability in every patient room at this hospital AND they record every patient phone call! When I spent the 4 days in the hospital I was presented with a bill for over $30,000 and ended up at the ER the very next night because of the incompetent doctor giving incorrect doseages for a new insulin which he put me on without telling me about it, knowing full well that my insulin would be used to try and balance the hospital budget for the month! I gave myself almost half the dose he had prescribed and was in hypoglycemic shock less than 2 hours later. If I had given myself the full dose of the new insulin I would have been dead in June! I have plenty to complain about with this socialized medicine and could write a whole thread about it but many just pooh pooh anything I say which is negative about it, many of them are bleeding heart liberals of course! Anyway it is 2 am so I must get to bed. I really need to try and catch up on some of the work which has been piling up. My snap, crackle pop shoulder is aching but at least I know it isn’t a cereal killer and at least my hand works. Have a good tomorrow and thanks once again! Prayers and comments are much appreciated irregardless of the aforementioned doctor who described me as having a very low IQ (if you can believe that). He must have been a C- student considering my IQ is 155. LOL I was mistakenly given the records for my June hospitalization and read through them just to see what had been written, and I have never seen so many instances of CYA in all my life. I most especially did NOT appreciate when in his own way the so called doctor said I was full of crap and the cancer was throughout my body. We shall see, other doctors who are specialists have a different opinion!

I simply sit waiting daily for our phone “date” with multiple questions going through my mind and come up with such things as how did the DHHS employee know I was from Canada in order to tell me to “Go back to Canada..”?(I had never mentioned where I was from simply that I had arrived in the country legally after waiting for two years and spending thousands to do so) The Chief sounded extremely positive tonight although his blood sugar still has not stabilized. He told the hospital administrator that he has advised all of his family including me to not sue for the mistake, so we will follow his wishes in that regard. He is still hoping to come up here to visit me knowing a surgery date may very well be set and understanding the difficult situation with regard to my hostile mother who loves to interfere. I do thank you for your efforts on our behalf as does the Chief himself. We both pray daily for something positive to happen and perhaps it will. I also read the Bible daily and it does calm me down but the frustration I experience comes from all of my current medical problems which Should have been diagnosed in the early 90’s but were not. That is what socialized medicine is like and I truly fear for the U.S. since I have experienced both systems and the U.S. system is far superior. Doctors would be astonished with a wait time of 3 years for a shoulder replacement knowing that time counts in such cases but here they don’t seem to care and it isn’t considered an emergency. Hard choices have to be made in both countries when it comes to health care but I was happy to actually spend an hour speaking with the Chief by telephone this evening and it has made me more relaxed. He had said they wanted him to remain in hospital until his blood sugar was under control but it is extremely high at this point so I don’t know when he will be released. I never had blood sugar as high as his so I really couldn’t say. Once again thank-you and I do understand that people do have jobs and jobs come first.

MrsCE, our brothers and sisters in Christ come first, not jobs. Nothing is more important than serving our Lord and praying for others. So do not fret in the least about that.
We are still praying here for both you and CE’s health as well as a swift, positive solution. I pray that you and CE will be in each others arms soon.

The Chief was released from the hospital late yesterday and made it through the night, he managed to go into town today but when I called him tonight he was in severe difficulty with his breathing again and asked me to phone his son to come get him and take him into Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He doesn’t think he will get out of the hospital at this point. Any and all prayers would be gratefully accepted at this point in time, oh how I wish I could find a way down to ID, I should be with him!

P.S. I truly believe my research into Jr’s fiction is what placed me on their list but of people to remove from the U.S. one way or another and they found the perfect way to do it. I don’t know if I will ever see my husband alive again.
This is terrible! My heart just breaks for you and your husband. Prayers for his recovery, and for yours, and may God bless you with each other for many years to come.
