That may be why you detect a Hispanic slant.
Then, think of LA — what do the Catholic Church have there now? Hispanics — a multitude of them — not to belittle the numbers of other Catholics.
I think Archbishop Gomez will bring many Catholics from the LA area back to the church — Did you read sockmonkey’s post above about the sadness in San Antonio diocese?
It’s like the sugar coating on medicine. It will get him into liberal L.A. with less rancor than, say, Chaput (his former boss) would face.
