There is nothing in life that physically demonstrates the spiritual as the act of entering into confession with a confessor. One can actually feel the weight of sin being lifted and being restored to a state of sanctifying grace.
All praise and glory to our Lord Jesus Christ for giving us this gift.

Were that everyone feel it they would all come home to the Church. But one can’t describe it sufficiently to convince the non-believer. Truly, the feeling of having the stain of sin ripped away from one’s soul is an incredible experience.

Yes, you CAN feel the weight of the sin removed. It's a beautiful, necessary, sacrament. I used to go every other week, but when my hearing crapped out on me (and I was forced to make appointments for face-to-face), I was hardly going at all. Now, I'm back to every other week since the beginning of the year, and there's an obvious difference in my attitude and outlook. I think I read that John Paul II went every day.
