I would think good church leaders exposing those that cover-up and enable evil would be a setback for the devil.
They both are progressives (read diabolically disorientated), who knows what they’re up to.
My family has been Roman catholic since the 1600’s and I want the Church CLEANED OUT of any and all pedophiles and homosexuals, PERIOD.
If so many joined the priesthood to hide and gain an air of decency in the 40’s- 60’s where do you think many are now? They are bishops and, yes, Cardinals and they have a vested interest in keeping everything silent. Their heads would be in baskets too!
Add the usual political intrique within the Vatican to the desire of some (I hope many) who want a purge, and the ambition of many to rise to the Papacy ,and you can’t be surprised that attacks have begun.
If anything is to be cleaned out from the inside this MUST happen.
Wouldn’t you rather a smaller, less-corrupt priesthood than a huge one hiding perverts and criminals?
Fr Fessio’s take on the subject:
GUESTVIEW: No good deed goes unpunished
Why would the Devil rejoice over evil that is being exposed? The New Testament commands leaders in the church to examine reports of sin in the life of an elder or a deacon.
Calling for an examination is a good thing.
