Acts of religious violence serve as grim reminders that what is sacred to some is simply seen by others as an invitation to desecrate, and that in circumstances where the hatred is so obvious, there is nothing more powerful than prayer.
NASHVILLE, TN (Catholic Online) - St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Maywood, CA is cleaning up after extensive vandalism to its school kitchen and auditorium over the weekend. Security cameras caught two men breaking in through the kitchen, where most of the damage was perpetrated, and taped them ravaging the facility for almost an hour and a half.
A cross was burned and jammed, inverted, into a damaged stove. A knife was plunged into the face of a picture of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Feces were left on the auditorium floor. The satanic number "666" was scrawled in various places throughout the facility. Condiments and food staples covered every surface. Butter was flung on the heavy, velvet auditorium curtains, staining them irreparably.
Because the damage was particularly pernicious, the police, who are in possession of the video, are characterizing the vandalism as a hate crime. "I can feel the sadness of spirit," said Fr. David Velasquez, the pastor of St. Rose of Lima, when speaking of those who came to help clean up the mess in an interview with KCAL 9 TV.

These fools suffer from a lot of misplaced guilt that if not redirected and rerouted towards Christ will lead to a situation that most certainly not end well for them.
There is a growing intolerance of religious institutions in the US. Some people are attacking the churches through vandalism and others through the courts.
Liberals hate any expression of faith.
No. I take that back, liberals hate Christians and Jews. Other faiths are tolerated/i.e. not deemed to be a threat.
Ann Coulter was right. Liberalism is the worship of government, and they tolerate no other competition.
Bash Back! formed in 2007 with a small group of Radical Transfolk, Queers and Allies organizing against the Republican National Convention. In April of 2008 over 100 radical Trans/Queer/Allied folk met in Chicago to formulate plans against the RNC/DNC and to start a long lasting network. This network has grown to 17 cities in three countries. Anyone who agrees with the Points of Unity can start a Bash Back! Chapter.
It’s probably not any one reason, but I’d bet that the anti-religious are most often the perpetrators. I don’t think there are very many who follow any strain of Christianity who believe there is reason to actually attack other Christian churches.
Wow! From a “mainstream Christian church” to boot. That’s disturbing, something I’d expect from islamists or lefties.
What?
Let us reason together....
Why would libs hate Roman Catholics when:
- Supports illegal immigration
- Maintains a facade of being pro-life but most pro-aborion congressmen are RCs.
- 54% of Catholics voted for Obama
- The Catholic church is quite universal in accepting other faiths as valid.
What’s his/her/its name on FR?
Satan.
Some liberals can’t stomach anything having anything to do with God.
Maybe.
INDEED.

I know personally of a Catholic Church in my area that suffered vandalism from the small non-denominational(?) church that took up residence in a site across from the Catholic Church and has been harassing the Catholics ever since.
I haven’t learned yet if there has been any civil action to prevent the vandalism and harassment. I know that the parishioners of the church are very concerned.

The Landover Baptist Church is a complete work of fiction. It is a satire/parody.

Libs hate devout Catholics. We are the reason why there is a pro-life movement in this country, for instance.
True. Anti-gay as well.
And Catholics are easily the most visible of Christians. Because of that visibility, they will suffer persecution first.
