This is not a matter of faith or morals and, like the death penalty, taking a contrary position does not jeapordize your soul or your standing in the Church. Liberation Theology attempts to meld Catholicism with Marxism and it looks like its adherents have embraced open borders.

By posting articles such as this, in my opinion, you put yourself in the same category as many northeasterners who posted signs:

No Irish Need Apply.
No Catholics Need Apply.
No Blacks need Apply.

By posting it, I didn't add or alter any of the content from the original Spero News article. Do you disapprove of the "citizen journalist" approach of Spero News? Why do you think the staff at Spero News chose to write and publish the article? Why do you think Stephanie Block at Spero News chose to write How to Train Catholic Citizens to Elect Morally-Perverted Catholic Politicians, which I posted yesterday? What are your opinions regarding immigration laws in the United States? Do you agree with the bishop(s) in the call for "comprehensive immigration reform"?

Why discuss your opinions on the content of the article itself, instead of discussing your opinions of my presumed posting habits? Or does the below sign reflect your opinion?

No Protestants Need Apply, or Need Post.

If the Catholic Church had been doing its job in transforming its flock spiritually, they would be successful in their own countries.

You make an interesting point.

We are told elsewhere that approximately one in five Americans are Catholic, that one in three Americans were raised in Catholic homes, and that the Catholic Church represents the single largest religious body in the United States. If all of that is true, what does that say about why America's in the state that it's in?

I am not for putting the bulk of the blame on Catholics, or the RCC. Or even a big share. But the Church has been infiltrated without a doubt. And Catholic Bishops and Nuns have re-interpreted the mission of the Church to their liking.

I was raised Protestant (Methodist), but I always learned that Nuns were supposed to be non-worldly. Until I met a former Nun who was a dope-smoking, socialist lesbian. Many like her stay in the Church and use their sanctified moral status as a tool towards every radical leftist goal.

In the USA, Catholics generally used to think much like anyone else, but there has always been a pro-worker, socialist movement within the Church. Yet you find the same thing in Protestant churches, particularly in the Methodist church in which I was raised. You also find socialism spouted by atheists, RINOs (think RNC), big banking elites, some scientific organizations and publications, and so on. So it's not only the Catholic Church that is to blame. We, as a culture of self-reliant individualists, are failing, and the siren call of socialism appeals to every weakness in the American psyche.

Again, I want to stress to all here that I don't see Catholics as enemies, or the Catholic Church being any more 'guilty' of cultural betrayal than any other organization with the same baggage. As I said above, you find this baggage even in the RNC.

It does not seem like it would be advantageous for the Roman Catholic church to become known by the general public as active supporters of illegal immigration.

I think a tidal wave of backlash on illegal immigration is coming (along with a backlash on many other things), and those who actively and publicly support it will be significantly impacted in a negative way.

So in the eyes of the Catholic church it is OK to break the Law?

In a word, NO.
