I'm going out on a limb here, but it seems to me that the goal of some of these homosexuals, such as those at this magazine, is to keep other homosexuals in the group.I used to live in a big city where there were large populations of gays and also a very active Italian mafia. Both used the same shaming and threatening techniques on individuals in their in-groups.

I should clarify that the threats used were different — the gays didn’t threaten murder like the mafiosi; they would threaten to out someone on their job or tell the naive wife, etc.

It's the chaste part that bothers them most. Even among gay people (as 2 guys I knew in college) the argument to 'quietly live my life' or be 'out there', like Folsom St everyday.
Wheres the freedom of choice and tolerance that the left is always lecturing us about??
Tolerance is mandatory. But one way. Tolerance for chastity? It doesn't register. It's depriving themselves, supposedly not 'natural'. Plus, if some people can keep chaste than it implies most everyone can try...
