Homosexual 'Marriage' is a Machination of the Devil, Argentinean Cardinal Warns
By Matthew Cullinan Hoffman, Latin America Correspondent
BUENOS AIRES, July 9, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Argentina's number one Catholic prelate, Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio, is calling upon the priests of the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires to bring their flocks to an upcoming protest against homosexual "marriage," which is currently under consideration by the nation's senate.
"Let's not be naive, we're not talking about a simple political battle; it is a destructive pretension against the plan of God," writes Bergoglio in a letter sent to the monasteries of Buenos Aires, where he is archbishop. "We are not talking about a mere bill, but rather a machination of the Father of Lies that seeks to confuse and deceive the children of God."
To the clergy of the parishes, Bergoglio requests that all of them read from the pulpits a declaration defending the true definition and understanding of marriage.
The country now needs "the special assistance of the Holy Spirit, to place the light of truth in the middle of the darkness of error, to defend us against the enchantment of so many sophistries with which they seek to justify this bill," he writes.
In addition to the initiative currently underway in the national Congress, homosexual activists, in league with liberal judges, have registered eight "marriages" in Argentina in recent months, although their actions are under review by higher courts. The national civil code, in agreement with dictionaries around the world, understands "marriage" to be a union between a man and a woman.

I am simply amazed at the amount of people who have accepted these sick people as though they are normal.
The sad fact is that they themselves have become abnormal.
At first glance, it doesn’t seem like homosexuality is really all that bad. After all, we’re all prone to sexual sin of one kind or another. However, the results for individuals and for society ... such as the fact that a person can lose his job or be publicly assaulted just for saying, “I think homosexual behavior is immoral,” or “I think marriage should be between a man and a woman” ... demonstrates that it is truly Satanic, much more evil than it seems on the surface.
St. Paul knew that, of course.
The Church finds herself in an hour of disquiet, of self-criticism, one might even say of self-destruction. It is like an acute and complex interior upheaval, which no one expected after the Council. One thought of a blossoming, a serene expansion of the mature concepts of the Council. The Church still has this aspect of blossoming. But since "bonum ex integra causa, malum ex quocumque defectu," the aspect of sorrow has become most notable. The Church is also being wounded by those who are part of her (Allocution to the students of the Lombard Seminary, Dec. 7, 1968).
A perfectly good word gay has been redefined to describe homosexuals. Homophobia has been causally redefined from fear of the same to bias against homosexuals. Now the marriage issue. They will never stop until they believe their behavior has been defined normal, which will never happen.
When homosexuality was removed from the DSM as a mental disorder society was put at risk. Funny how not even ten years after that event AIDS began to flourish. Now everyone in the world lives in fear of AIDS.
America needs more ex homosexuals to speak out against their previous lives. Ones who find religion and are against their previous lifestyle. Of course they'd probably receive death threats.
H*** Homosexual is a Machination of the Devil as I see it.
We need patron saints, too: people who faced their own same-sex confusions and temptations, and, through valiant struggle, lived pure lives for the love of God. The poet Gerard Manley Hopkins was one such saint. I am sure there must be more.
