Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Amen to Your Prayers, Geologist.
I love the Psalms So MUCH!
Maybe it's because my JOB is: songwriter, singer, musician,
that I get SO MUCH out of Psalms, and that I love the SONGS in the Bible with such a Passion.
There are, of course, other songs in the Bible, like the Song of Moses, Miriam, Asaph, Solomon, and so on.
There are even a few in the Gospels!
But The Psalms of King David are my Favorite. If we are allowed to have FAVORITES! (:-).
Love,
ML/LTOS

Suddenly a car pulled up, and FOUR youths got out, brandishing BASEBALL BATS!
They were walking in my direction. I calmly unplugged the bass from the amp, and stood up, with legs astride, wielding the huge, long-necked instrument over my head like a battle axe, and stood perfectly still, staring them in the face. Like a flock of birds, they all turned at once and headed in the other direction down into the glades, probably to torment some poor alligator. David's examples makes good warriors of us all - maybe the four sensed your strength. Maybe David is charmed and watching over you. Or both. For me, I'm thankful you're OK - and with us today.

The LORD is My Strength and My Song
And He has become My Salvation
Yorkie, I LOVE that passage from Ephesians. I post it frequently in the "Pray For Our American Heroes" Thread, when It Is My Turn in the Rotation.
Notice, There is no piece of Armor for one's BACK.
No Retreat.
No Surrender.
Stand Your ground.
Even If All You Have is a Musical Instrument(Praise!)
Remember. In the Ancient World, especially in the Israelite Army, the First Ones into the Battle were the MUSICIANS.
This Tradition continued Right up to America's War between the States, when the Drummers and Buglers led the Charge.
And some of them were as young as NINE Years old.

Amen, My Good FRiend, GOPJ.
As A Musician, I have always loved David.
Now he seems to be making a Warrior out of me with his Songs!
And his Great-Great-Great(and so on)GrandSon has made me a SAINT!
I think I can safely say that David is my FAVORITE Old Testament Hero.
Even with his flaws, or maybe because of them.

I think I can safely say that David is my FAVORITE Old Testament Hero. Even with his flaws, or maybe because of them. That's how I feel too - my favorite - and partially because of the 'oh so human' flaws. Have you heard Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah? Such a beautiful song.

Oh Yes. I Love That Song.
And the Chords are very easy,
so I teach it to my young students.
They recognize the song INSTANTLY , because it was featured in the movie "Shreck 2"
There is something about singing the words, and playing the chords at the same time that really sinks in.
