It doesn’t seem so. Get a life.”

You cannot construct on a faulty foundation.

Wow, you must really have no life in order to have time to comment on people that you think have no life.

That’s small!

Mormonic poster!

I imagine you might be typing to me while wearing magic underwear, hoping that you will soon be a mormonic god.

Even at 83, you are not too old to turn to Christ and from your works and trust Him for salvation.

That is the Life Worth Getting!

Ok, thanks. I think I understand what you mean now.

The verse I included from Doctrine and Covenants 137 states:

“All who have died without a knowledge of this Gospel, who would have received it if they had been permitted to tarry, shall be heirs of the celestial kingdom of God; also all that shall die henceforth without a knowledge of it, who would have received it with all their hearts, shall be heirs of that kingdom, for I, the Lord, will judge all men according to their works, according to the desire of their hearts”

This explains that God does not fault anyone who does not accept the Gospel because they didn’t have the opportunity to learn about it in this life. Also, God judges people according to their works and the desires of their hearts. He is the perfect judge and will be completely fair.

We believe that the proxy work for the dead in the temples allow all the opportunity to receive those ordinances necessary for salvation in the celestial kingdom.

If this is the teaching of mormonism, then it would appear that proxy ordinances are worthless since God has already granted them flawlessness. What benefit would baptism be for an individual already becoming a god without it?

Our little trio could show up over in WINSLOW and stand on the corner singing and giving the tourists a TREAT!

It doesn’t seem so. Get a life.

So you have no responses for the problems shown either; eh?

And THIS would be accomplished; how?

If he states it as a question "Are you listening to demons?" it is not "making it personal" because it is tentative.

For instance, "are you a heretic?" is not making it personal - but "you are a heretic" is making it personal.

If the poster words it as an expression of his own mind, e.g. "I think you are listening to demons" then it is not "making it personal" because he is not reading your mind.

However, if the dialogue is causing the thread to be misdirected from the issues to the individual Freepers then it "making it personal."

So let me ask you - is this the same as the baptism for the dead mentioned in the bible? Was that what was going on in 1 Cor 15:29?

Baptism for the dead is mentioned in 1 Cor 15:29. Joseph Smith also received revelations about the doctrine.

Yes, but I’m asking you, was the baptism for the dead carried out in 1st Cor the same as what the LDS do today? Who was doing it? Was it valid?

If the baptism for the dead mentioned by Paul was carried out under authority from the Church then yes, I would say it was certainly valid.
