I have GOT to get down there this year. Very cool.
That gurgling little irrigation ditch is a WONDERFUL addition to the landscape and VERY effective in keeping it ‘cool’ alright!
And yet both Joey Smith and Briggy Young were boozers...
and Joey Smith was known to get drunk...
and he cursed at people and beat them up with or without the aid of inebriation...
and Joey Smith had a bar and sold hard liquer to other mormons...
How sad is that ???
We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
__________________________________________
But wheres the “as far as it is translated correctly;”
After all the bom was not translated correctly the first time from “reformed Egyptian”
Joey Smith was just a 14 yo ignorant kid...
There has been 4,000 changes necessary since Joey Smith’s translation..
Joey Smith did not speak read or write English very well let alone a foreign language...
To be considered legally ignorant he would have to fail miserably when it came to translaqting anything...
otherwise who would believe he was ignorant...
There are those in these threads with degrees in Hebrew, Greek, Latin,
Shall I call them ignorant so that they have some credibility ???
Oh Reaganaut, thou ist so unlearned (ignorant) and yet so wise and all knowing..
What thinkest thou of these things ???
Ok. How about now? It's been 5 days...LOL
Chuckle.
Translate means Translate. Smith did no such thing.
As I have said before, I took Hebrew to find out what wasn’t ‘translated correctly’ in the Bible. The answer = Nothing.
Although there are some poor word choices in the KJV.
If smith translated from ‘reformed egyptian’ (a language that doesn’t exist btw), by the power of God, then the BoM would have come out right the FIRST TIME. God uses perfect grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
THE
DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS SECTION 132
5157, Emma Smith is counseled (commanded) to be faithful and true; 5866, Laws governing the plurality of wives are set forth.
51 Verily, I say unto you: A commandment I give unto mine handmaid, Emma Smith, your wife, whom I have given unto you, that she stay herself and partake not of that which I commanded you to offer unto her; for I did it, saith the Lord, to aprove you all, as I did Abraham, and that I might require an offering at your hand, by covenant and sacrifice.
52 And let mine handmaid, Emma Smith, areceive all those that have been given unto my servant Joseph, and who are virtuous and pure before me; and those who are not pure, and have said they were pure, shall be destroyed, saith the Lord God.
53 For I am the Lord thy God, and ye shall obey my voice; and I give unto my servant Joseph that he shall be made ruler over many things; for he hath been afaithful over a few things, and from henceforth I will strengthen him.
55 But if she will not abide this commandment, then shall my servant Joseph do all things for her, even as he hath said; and I will bless him and multiply him and give unto him an ahundredfold in this world, of fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, houses and lands, wives and children, and crowns of beternal lives in the eternal worlds.

Since MORMONism canNOT produce a list of ERROR; the FACT must be that THAT part of the AoF is FALSE!
Perhaps he needs pinged again.
His last one could have scrolled off the bottom of the page into oblivion...
I love Jesus Christ and try to serve Him to the best of my ability. When the roll is called uo yonder, we will see!!
Thanks for reviving this thread.
Yes, lawsone, but is the Jesus Christ you love and try to serve the mormon Jesus, a created spirit being?
Or the actual, real Biblical Jesus Christ? The one who was neither created, nor made? The second Person of the Triune God, who is eternally God - outside of time and always?
If your answer is the first, there is no salvation there. Sinful created gods are not God. God is holy, eternal, omnipotent.
Hopefully, you have time to fix this issue before your death. My own father died at 83 - about your age?
Once the roll is called up yonder, it is too late.
“It is appointed once for man to die, then comes judgment.”

There are some words you don’t seem to recognize: “Only Begotten Son” John 1:18, Acts 13:33,John 3:16 and
John 1;12 But as many as received him, to them he gave power to become the SON’S Of GOD.
I am old and perhaps my eyes are failing me but I dont find Trinity or Triune in the Bible. Did I miss something?
Another awful thing about Mormons, BYU has won the title again for being the #1 Stone Cold Sober” school. I don’t expect accolades, but isn’t it is a good thing?
Chapter and verse or were you an eye witness to these events??
Chapter and verse or were you an eye witness to these events??
All Mormon’s are so ignorant they can’t even find “The Trinity or “ The Triune God” in The Bible.
Our “Friends” do seem to struggle with “The Son” or Only Begotten Son” or “This is My Beloved Son in whom I am well pleased”.
It is so sad that we can’t discuss those things we love and believe in with more understanding and love.
“There are some words you dont seem to recognize: Only Begotten Son John 1:18, Acts 13:33,John 3:16 and
John 1;12”
As a reader of New Testament Greek, I not only know the words in English, but also in Greek. The passages do not say Jesus is a created being.
Jesus is literally the unique God or the only begotten God (monogen theos; cf. monogenous, the one and only in v. 14). The Apostle closes the loop in this passage by returning to John 1:1 - Jesus is God. Jesus is at the Fathers side, revealing the nature of the invisible God.
His position is spoken about. The passage does not in any way mean Christ was a created being... though the mormons have told you this.
“But as many as received him, to them he gave power to become the SONS Of GOD.”
“Sons” refers to the position of Christians. It does not mean they will become gods.
“I am old and perhaps my eyes are failing me but I don’t find Trinity or Triune in the Bible.”
First, the word Bible isn’t in the Bible, yet you just used it. :-)
Second, I referred to the triune nature of God - Father, Son, Spirit are all three revealed to have the full attributes of God. God also reveals He is ONE God, not three.
A better question for your eyes would be to search the Bible and find out where God ever says there are other gods (not idols). Think this through carefully before responding.
“Did I miss something?”
Yes, you did lawsone. I fear you are so busy with taking the leaders’ word for things that you haven’t started with the Bible to see what it says. It says there is ONE God.
“Another awful thing about Mormons, BYU has won the title again for being the #1 Stone Cold Sober school. I dont expect accolades, but isnt it is a good thing?”
In what way is it a good thing? Schools are not Christians. Only people can be Christians. Christians shouldn’t be drunk. Beyond that, it simply means there are a lot of people who are legalistically following a path that does not lead to the grace of God.
In short, it has nothing to do with much of anything, unless you are a beer distributor... :-)
