Lutherans Seek Forgiveness for Persecution of Anabaptists

The statement asks for forgiveness “from God and from our Mennonite sisters and brothers” for past wrongdoings and the ways in which Lutherans subsequently forgot or ignored this persecution and have continued to describe Anabaptists in misleading and damaging ways.

I don’t know. How far back do the apologies need to go? Has the Pope apologized for the crusades?

That really wasn't what intrigued me about this. It was the admitting that they had not always represented what the Anabaptists believed accurately. I think most Christians regret bad things that were done in the past in the name of Christianity.

Has the Pope apologized for the crusades?

I don't know has he?

What about the content of what he was saying?

Is it the apology, or the admission that Anabaptists have not been accurately portrayed that you disagree with?
