Mexico City, Mexico, Jul 30, 2010 / 02:02 pm ( CNA/Europa Press).- Local authorities have reported that a priest, Fr. Carlos Salvador Wotto was found dead at the parish of Our Lady of the Snows in Oaxaca, Mexico. Signs of torture were evident on the priest’s body.

The 83-year-old Fr. Wotto was found bound and gagged inside his office. He had a bag over his head and cigarette burns on various parts of his body. Authorities have not ruled out that Fr Wotto died from asphyxiation nor that the motive was robbery.

Sounds like Iraq and Afganistan. I wouldn’t set foot in Mexico these days. They’re as sick as the Muslim wackjobs.

Most likely his killers were seeking info on one of their former friends. You know Priests take confession.

83 years old?

It is at times like this when I pray for spiritual justice.

My sentiments as well. I have to wonder if the Zeta’s and their competitors will go a bridge too far with respect to the local population. Torturing a Priest to death seems way over the top even for gangsters. My guess is they are “progressive” gangsters. You know, like Mr. Skittles.

I wouldn’t set foot in Mexico either. It is dangerous to stand for Christ in the face of evil. God bless this good man.

I believe it was the Emperess Carlotta, wife of Maximilian who said Mexico was not Catholic but pagan with a covering of Catholicism.

Or something to that effect as I don’t have the quote with me.

This angle hadn't occurred to me.

I hope that St. Joseph was able to somewhat comfort the poor priest in his last minutes.

And, in some respects, even that veneer of Catholicism has eroded in the last few decades, as Mexico attempts to catch up to the rest of the world’s depravity. Of course, there are still many good individual Catholics in Mexico.

Not being a Catholic, I don’t know much about the Saints, but I am sure God welcomed this man’s soul to heaven.

Coming to Catholic Churches in America partly thanks to the Catholic Church, who supports illegal immigration. Ironic doesn’t begin to cover it...

Yes it is coming to the Catholic Churches in America. But the more predominant reason is that far too many bishops were far too squishy on what positions Catholics should take at the ballot box.

It won't be illegals from Mexico who slit priests' throats. It will be home-grown Americans.

He died a martyrs death. Those who killed him will suffer the curse of the blood of the martyrs. He is in heaven now beyond any pain or suffering but those who killed this man will die horrible deaths in this life and be cast into the bowels of H*ll to suffer for all time.

This is always sad when sadistic measures on used on human beings....but if this man died because of Jesus, he is a Martyr for the lord and in a much better place than we are...

I remember someplace in scripture (Revelation?) about martyrs souls crying out for justice to Jesus. His reply was wait a little longer until all those that are to be martyrs have their numbers fulfilled (paraphrasing)...

If that be the case this mans death was his blessing...

Hey, if the Catholic churches support John Kerry, what good are they?
