The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the LORD, the splendor of our God.

Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come.” (Isaiah 35:1-4b)

Holy Father, we thank You for welcoming us into Your presence, and we long to please You.

Father, we pray for our troops. We seek Your help for them in all that they do and face. Victory belongs to You alone, and You alone are sufficient for all our trials and fear. Show our military Your mercy, Lord.

Lord, we pray concerning the Missouri Health Care Freedom Act, which goes up for a vote in only a few days. We ask that it would pass and become law. Give wisdom to all those who will vote.

Father, You choose the lowly things and the despised things; what You hid from the wise, You revealed to little children. Because of You the desert and parched land are glad, the wilderness blossoms like a crocus and shouts for joy. You give the glory of Lebanon to the wilderness; You strengthen the feeble and come to the fearful in heart. We praise the beauty and grace of Your works, and the splendor of our God, in the glorious Name of Jesus, Amen.

Thank you for praying for us; we really need your prayers. I had a SPC commit suicide the other day, and two more are on suicide watch this week (all in the same platoon!). These wars have gone on longer than any war in American history and all three have lost their wives and have been cleaned-out financially by their wives (seems to be the new thing; clean out your soldier’s bank account before telling him you’re divorcing him). It’s time to either turn the middle east to glass or get out.....the in-between thing is breaking the nation and those who fight for her.

In the coldest and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

In like manner, let our prayers now rise for our heroes in the American military who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your healing wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Amen.
