The barbarians are not “at the gate” they are inside and destroying from within.....wolves dressed in sheeps clothing in every pew...and their agenda to change the church from the centrality that is in Christ Jesus to something else moves at record pace.

The church better induldge in sound doctrine and preach it boldly in the face of this onslaught. If the church continues to fail to stand for truth, and allows this infiltration to continue, we will see more and more of the true blievers abandoning the church and it will indeed go underground.

It is about false doctrine and that which misdirects people away from Christ to another, be it idol worship, Islam, or all the other false and destructive practices which are storming this nation and the churches... which directly affects ones relationship with Christ and the body of Christ throughout the Christian community.

Christians are called to directly oppose false doctrines by standing for what is truth when practices and beliefs are contrary to the revealed written word of God. The Apostles did so...the disciples did so, and Christ himself did so, and so are we to do so.

I heard a radio Christian pastor who is now friends with me. Once talk about his brother in the Lord who was from Hungary (? pretty sure this nation.) during the Iron curtain days. He was in prison for many years with Catholics ,Baptists,Calvinist or just plain believers. They were tortured and killed. Everybody would pray and sing psalms together.

There was no distinction in the Holy Spirit. He saw beauty of God with everyone. He saw some die as martyrs. He was one of the rare ones who got out. He wrote a book about it. Which gave him a little fame. He went all over the world with his witness. I believe this was in the 1970's. He died since.

I am afraid when we all wake up to what really matters we will be together looking out thru jail bars. What with all the anti-christian sentiment and law changes. May God help us all.

Not to mention that her ranch was actually 37 miles from town, not 35, as she wrote...

LOL, that's great.

Notice it's criticize the messenger, not the message?

The brother with no specialized training, degrees, titles, etc. opens a King James Bible at the kitchen table and despite all the conditioning she had previously been given she saw the TRUTH. Praise God! Thank You JESUS!

Looks to me like members of the Moody Bible Baptist college on parade with some statue. Without any context this picture is worthless. Cite some legitimate source.

Your belief systems are very imperfect and berift of the oceans of sacramental graces Jesus left for us to assist our journey to Him. You have taken a minimalist route on your journey to reach the salvation offered by Jesus, like one who would fast at the banquet of the Lord.

BTW, why doesn’t she specify the name of her order? “Catholic Medical Missionary Order” is a description, not a name.

By Barbarians at the gate I was referring to the external threats...and they are now considerable. Neo-paganism is on the rise. Islam is on the rise. Truly heretical para-Christian organisations are on the rise. Even Atheism is on the rise. Secularism is now dominant in the western world. Meanwhile the Church squanders its energy and resources on pointless battles over minor interpretations of theology. Indulge in sound doctrine? We can't afford to indulge in biting our own guts out, or this lot are going to finish us.

Oh I don't want to minimise the differences between the denominations. They are real enough. They are even significant. But they pale in comparison to the similarities.

Is ‘Ashtoreth’ the name of the female god, “the Queen of Heaven” that was worshipped by Nimrod and his wife Semiramis? Or is it yet another one?

I understand but I think we agree the enemy of mens souls is operating now within and without.....almost like a push to the finish line....”He knows that his time is short”.

I think when their are debates these prove very informative, and when actually in them ones is challenged as well. This is a good thing for all. O yes there is the squabbles and name calling etc....but one needs to let that roll of the back and stay the course of the debate, because in the world outside the Internet those debates get just as heated when truth meets with falsehood...and as the “great deception” begins we are all going to have to know how to stand against that tide...and doctrines will indeed be a part of that...until He takes us out. We see this already....and the battles will grow more fierce as more and more people resign themselves to the status quo.

The really neat thing is the threads offer us to retrace the steps of what's been said....if we've erred we see it, if we stand we see how we fared against false teachings. We “see” the arguments both for and against. I think we understand the state of affairs both within and without....how can the church stand if we are not free....and at the same time how will our nation fair if the church remains silent. The two stand together.

That's fair criticism. If the Catholic churches have skimped on scripture in the past (which they don't now...catholic scholasticism is back with a vengenance!) then the Protestant churches have certainly skimped on the Sacrements.

And in the age to come I think the Catholics are going to be better placed because of that.

But nobody is praying to that statue nor do they claim Billy to be anything other than the Preacher He was. And they do not elevate Him above Christ even remotely nor do they pray to him... Any more than they do of those statues to Presidents. But what the Catholic church does is very much different....parading statues around and throwing flowers toward them...kneeling before them and elevating them throughout their belief system

Typical. This former Catholic suddenly becomes as pompous as a former Mormon or former smoker. Pretty sickening if you ask me.

There are millions of happy and faithful (and yes, saved) Catholics. Ya wanna convert? Fine, but can ANYONE just convert and shut up? Or at least be less pompous about it? She was screwed up and got better. Fine. That doesn’t imply that everyone else needs to follow in her footsteps. Sorry, hon, everyone else wasn’t as screwed up as you were, and you’re probably still more screwed up than many you would presume to “save.”

I agree and have stopped posting to those who find some sadistic joy in arguing back and forth.

It does nothing for the Love of God and Praising him.

It just outs all the sin full human imperfections we all have.

By the way I heard a rumor that the color font-ed manics and the ping list of buddies are all converting to Catholicism and looking for Adult Catechism classes in their areas, someone should help them out and post the times and dates for them as Sept. is coming up.

They will be ready for Lenten season and Holy Confirmation in 2011. : )

Not everyone reacts to it as intended.

I won’t take pain meds unless just right after rip open gut surgery.

Pain killers are like speed and I go go and hurt the healing process.

I take Advil for really unbearable pain and that stuff works wonders on the pain but not on the brain. But that is just me.

Gal.5:4 You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.

Luke 12:51 Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division.

Christians rejoice when a person is Born Again. The only people who complain are RC's if the person came out of the RCC. The good news is you can join us in the light any time by believing The Gospel.
