Since you have called out the moderator to protect yourself I think I will do well to no longer “discuss” this with you. Have a peaceful night. God bless.

Even on this very thread someone has pointed out that they did not know that Beck is Mormon, I would guess that masses of his listeners and watchers and revival attendees don’t know.

I never contacted a moderator, so that statement isn’t true.

Then you would assume wrong. I said where are the Protestant leaders in this country? Where is the current generation’s Graham or Falwell? One reason Beck can get the crowds he does is because there are not Protestant leaders that are rallying anyone. That should be the focus of Protestants, why are they not trying harder.

That could very well be, but LDS don’t post that kind of garbage on FR, at least about Catholic Christians.

Not about Catholics, like I said, Catholics are their prey of choice.

Why ask me? Look into it and see what is on the drawing boards and tell us.

Does that mean that you read the Catholic statement in post 104?

My wife commented to me about some article that asked the question if Beck should be speaking for Christians. I told her “Well, the Christians haven’t been doing much - so I’m glad Beck is.” Went on to comment how our Founding Fathers differed in their various beliefs - but I think left things pretty generic in discussing the faith that was behind the creation of this great nation.

From the little bit I watched of the rally, Beck did a similar thing. Discussing faith in terms of lifting up each other and our nation. As some other poster said - it was on the Capitol Mall, not a church.

Catholic Answers is not the Vatican and does not guide me in the daily practice of my faith.

Who is Catholic Answers... lay run organization out of San Diego... I don’t know what their authority is.. do you?

Are they infallible?

Please respect my request to end our repertoire.....

MISSION STATEMENT
Catholic Answers is one of the nation’s largest lay-run apostolates of Catholic apologetics and evangelization. Its mission statement explains its purpose:

Catholic Answers is an apostolate dedicated to serving Christ by bringing the fullness of Catholic truth to the world. We help good Catholics become better Catholics, bring former Catholics “home,” and lead non-Catholics into the fullness of the faith. We explain Catholic truth, equip the faithful to live fully the sacramental life, and assist them in spreading the Good News.

SUPPORTING CATHOLIC ANSWERS
We rely on tax-deductible donations from the laity for the majority of our support. Even though our work has the approval of many bishops in the United States and other countries, we do not ask dioceses for direct assistance. The balance of our support comes mainly through the sale of good Catholic literature, tapes, and magazine subscriptions.

You can make a tax-deductible gift to Catholic Answers on-line or you can send it as a check made payable to:

Catholic Answers
P. O. Box 199000
San Diego, CA 92159

A receipt will be mailed to you.

You also can help the apostolate by making a bequest to the organization. For anyone wishing to help in this way, more information is available.

Looks like I offended someone that dislikes the Mormons and Glenn Beck, because the post you answered was removed...So I will say this a little more diplomatically so the abuse button doesn't get hit....

I have not heard Glenn Beck say anything about lucifer or any of the other things some people say he believes....They are reading his mind and heart and that is not the job of a follower of Jesus.. I will take him at his word that he loves the Lord and Jesus is his savior despite some that use calumny against him

My wife commented to me about some article that asked the question if Beck should be speaking for Christians.

Mark Chp 9:

38 "Teacher," said John, "we saw a man driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us."

39 "Do not stop him," Jesus said. "No one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me,

40 for whoever is not against us is for us.

41 I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward.

Catholic Answers is highly regarded on questions of Catholicism, do you disagree with that position in post 104? Do you think that the Vatican accepts Mormonism as a Christian religion?

I gave my opinion of that earlier. I would rather not have a national leader. I was saying the reason people are going to Beck’s rally instead of some Priest’s or Pastor’s rally is because Beck is having a rally while the Priests and Pastors are not.

“...we saw a man driving out demons in your name ...”

Boy - that hits real close to the mark with this rally and the current folks in political places!

I watched Glenn Beck’s 8-28 speech with my husband while it was happening live on C-Span.

I myself did not feel moved to pray.

In fact, when listening closely to what he had to say, hope, honor, charity, returning to church, tithing, honor to family, looking to ourselves and rejecting big government, believing that America has a divine purpose and that I do as well...

I still did not feel moved to pray.

Glenn Beck was not speaking to me. The people who already are going to church, who are taking care of their families, who have rejected big government, who believe in America, they saw a rally that they could enjoy.

But, how many of them are now “MOVED” to change their lives? There is probably little reason for them to do so. It needs to come from within you, and you need to sustain it.

If you had enough time and spending money to travel to DC for his event and you weren’t preparing to make a change in your life already, then why would you go?

I’m way past Beck’s arbitrary starting point. And I think many who went didn’t go for his pep talk to tell them how to do it. They went to be a part of an experience.

My question then is... What will this experience mean in five years? In my mind, very little. Because it still has to come from within. To change your heart and turn to Jesus as given to us in the Holy Bible, all you need to do is ask Him to forgive you and accept Him as your Lord and Savior.

(It’s okay. Beck will approve!)

Are you trying to get me banned? Why do you continue to engage me? I have already been warned that I have personally attacked you whilst trying to defend myself! Sorry... not into self-flagellation.. and no I do not respect Catholic Answers as the AUTHORITY when it comes to my faith. I think I did say that already. Have a great life, a good night and may God bless you and yours....
