A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.(Proverbs 12:10)
There is an old Rabbinic proverb that goes something like this;”Whoever is kind to the cruel, is actually cruel to the Kind”. The way the Proverbs of Solomon relates it, The tender mercies of the wicked are cruel…”.
The point is that the godless, do not lack mercy, it’s just that they exercise it in a way that actually hurts people. This is because their godlessness causes them to be morally skewed. The unforseen consequences of their ‘mercy’ end up amounting to cruelty.
There are many examples of this being played out in our culture today. Our non-judgmental ‘tolerance’ of homosexuality, has doomed many hurting and insecure people into an unhealthy and degraded “identity” that is proven to shorten their lives and destroy their soul.
In the effort to be “tolerant” and accepting, millions of impressionable school children are being exposed at younger and younger ages to homosexual propaganda,(such as the ‘day of silence’), and lured into solidarity with them as if they were standing up for their “Civil Rights”. This is a cruel manipulation of the natural idealism of children.
Perhaps the cruelest “mercy” of all is that in an effort to promote the idea that homosexual couples can be every bit as normal as anyone else, adoption laws have been altered to not only allow, but to actively promote the adoption of children by homosexual couples. The tender mercies of the wicked are cruel…
I could go on and on, with examples of how cruel the new ‘tolerance’ and non-judgmentalism really is. The state subsidization of illegitimacy through transfer payments, which has created a three and four generation permanent underclass, is one example.
The so-called “war on poverty”was done in the name of ‘tender mercy’. In fact virtually all of the agenda of the so called “progressive left” is an embodiment of this “cruel mercy”. Abortion, Affirmative action, sexual liberation, and scores of related evils were all promoted by the left in the name of ‘compassion’ at one time or another.
Obama once famously told the world, that should one of his daughters ever get pregnant, he “wouldn’t want to punish her with a baby”.This was his rational for being one of the most avid proponants of not only abortion, but partial birth abortion, and even post abortion infanticide, in the case of any baby who might survive an abortion! Cruel, cruel mercies indeed!
But the latest manifestation of this misshapen mercy is in the way that Islam is being ‘tolerated’, and even preferred to the exclusion of Islam’s millions of victims.
Case in point, the Ground Zero Mosque. Mayor Bloomberg stood before a bank of microphones, flanked by clergy of every stripe, tearfully pleading for and lecturing of tolerance, in New York, a city of more than a hundred mosque’s already.It is obvious to all but the elite that the “Cordoba initiative’ is a calculated insult to the west and all it stands for.
The fact that St. John’s Orthodox church was actually destroyed on Sept 11 , 2001, and has yet to overcome the red tape needed to rebuild on its ground zero,former site, didn’t get much attention at Bloomberg’s made for TV tolerance-fest. Such is the selective mercy of the morally bankrupt, rubber-stamp the mosque, but hinder the church.
All were made aware of the Qu’ran burning controversy. Who knew though that in 2009 Egyptian Muslims burnt a christian villager to death and stabbed to his father also! The wicked are very selective in their compassion and sensitivity.

I don’t advocate burning the Qu’ran, in fact I wish more thinking people, including Muslims, would read it critically, because I am sure there would be an Exodus out of Islam should more do this.,P.
The “tender mercies of the West” , deferring towards Islam, are actually cruel, even to Muslims. Many muslims came to the west in order to escape the madness of sharia dominated retrograde societies that Islam engenders.
The west used to be a refuge for thinking Muslims, from the injustice and ignorance of Islamic society. But multiculturalism is forcing accommodation to the very backwardness many Moslems came here to escape. Muslims in the UK are already being made subject to Sharia courts, as the British elite accommodate against the will of the citizenry.
Our godless ‘tender mercies’ are bringing us to the point of the inversion of values. In the new tolerance, the intolerant are to be tolerated to the exclusion of the truly tolerant.Such mercy is making us reprobate.Only by a return to the God of the Bible can real mercy, moral clarity and discernment be restored to us.
