What is the MIND of Christ....Is it Spiritual...Or is it of man's thinking. Was the Mind of Christ revealed to Peter, or to Paul? Learn these Truths as revealed from Christ as delivered to Paul in the Bible

What is the MIND of Christ....Is it Spiritual...Or is it of man's thinking. Learn the Truth as revealed from Christ as delivered to Paul in the Bible.

Our Apostle Paul for this dispensation of the mystery of grace, writes to us in 1 Corinthins 2:

1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.

Now who is we that Paul is referring? It of course, is true Bible believing grace believers today. For Paul earlier writes:

1 Corinthians 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

These perfect of whom Paul is writing is grace believers; made perfect by the Bible doctrine made available to us in Paul's writings: Romans through Philemon; even Peter acknowledges higher wisdom and harder to understnad wisdom was given to Paul directly BY FATHER GOD and JESUS CHRIST:

2 Peter 3:15 ...our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

The Spiritual things are now considered by Paul in verses 12-13. Notice carefully how Paul contrasts the spirit of the world (and its wisdom); with what is offered and give to us from God.

1 Corinthians 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God...13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

It must be seen from these verses that what Paul is driving forward towards the mind of Christ, id Paul's refernece to spiritual things, not man's so called wisdom. And why is this thus? For God's thoughts are higher than man's thoughts and ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). God wisdom is far higher and above than any man's wisdom. God would want us, who are perfect (1 Corinthians 2:5), to possess perfect wisdom, which can only come from above, from God. Perfect Wisdom of God.

So now, Christ gives us not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God In this spiritual gift, we now will recognize that the things that are freely given to us are of and from God alone, not man.

And this, God's wisdom, teaches us by HIS Holy Ghost/Holy Spirit spiritual wisdom that is not made from man's thinking or finite devices. God does this to prove us by comparing spiritual things with spiritual; not man things with man.

Why this approach: [Well, first of all, it's God approach...and we must ensure that God's method always is to be taken first over man's method]

Because, 1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The natural man is completely unable to handle the things of God in regards to His wisdom; that is why God, in HIS infinite wisdom, God and Christ gives us not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God

And now since [1 Corinthians 2:14] the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: ...neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

But the believer is testified in this role:

1 Corinthians 2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

And thus, Paul concludes, that we as true grace believers in Christ Jesus, that we have (past tense) the mind of Christ:

1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.

The Mind of Christ is given to the Body of Christ, whicch consists of all believers world wide. Furthermore, the Mind of Christ is the spiritual Bible Doctrines and instructions which God Almighty has deposited with the Apostle Paul in his epistles, Romans through Philemon. Read and re-read these epistles, and receive the spiritual teaching from the Holy Ghost / Holy Spirit on the gospel doctrines that our Apostle Paul has graceously shared with us.

The Mind of Christ, is spirit and doctrines and instructions by the Holy Ghost / Holy Spirit, so that we reckon the things taught by Paul, whom is a ministry to the gentiles. Paul had this special privilege to UNcircumcision, just as Peter had his special ministry to the circumcision. Note: Galations 2:8 For he [GOD] that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, that same was mightly in me [Paul] toward the Gentiles [uncircumcision]

Do not miss these gems.

Some may try to shipwreck you and say that these things are of man's doings and effort, and therefore resulting from the effort of man's wisdom. The Mind of Christ are spiritual, and not earthly, nor can they be earthly, as the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God...neither can he know them. The natural man is spiritually discerned: unable to know them.

In the sphere of the Mind of Christ, the Holy Ghost / Holy Spirit controls and directs the doctrine and instruction in the soul when you read Paul's epistles.

Watch and heed the warning that Peter warns against, in 2 Peter 3:15 ...our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Some interesting things you bring up here to think about. Paul and Peter of course taught the same Gospel, but in different ways, revealing (sometimes) different things. It makes sense, because Peter’s audience were the Jews, who already had been given a revelation, and could therefore understand Christianity merely by relating it to the previous revelation.

Gentiles, then and today, have only the wisdom of the world, the philosophies that man has constructed by reason alone in an attempt to understand our world. These are flawed, but reason alone is not sufficient to correct the flaws, and our human chauvinism makes it hard for most unbelievers to accept by reason alone that they are indeed flawed. Paul was gifted with the ability to express the wisdom of God in terms that those steeped in reason and philosophy could accept, without belittling the God-given mechanism (reason) that they had used to fashion these worldviews.

While it would have been easy to decimate the wisdom of the world with God’s wisdom, instead Paul demonstrates how the wisdom of God can complete and perfect the imperfect understandings granted by the wisdom of the world. In doing so, he shows Gentiles that they need not abandon reason in order to accept God, but they only need to humbly admit the limitations of reason. Then, the need for God’s wisdom becomes apparent, and to a rational mind, urgently so!

I’m sure that the Lord plants seeds of faith in believers throughout their lives, but it was not until I was forced, as a skeptic, to read Romans as part of a high school course, that I could no longer use rationalizations to justify turning my heart away from the Lord. So, for this gentile, Paul was truly an apostle to me, and I praise God for sending him!

Thank you for your observations and interesting words about Gentiles and our minister the Apostle Paul. Praise God for your salvation!

Few in Christian-dom ever fully recognize the gifts and teachings that the Glorified Lord Jesus Christ (Messiah) revealed to Paul. Things, which if Paul was not raised from a Chief Sinner, and now, as Paul writes three times...follow me, follow me, follow me.

For Paul's gospel of grace is superbly true - and not perverted, as is referred and called so by Paul in Galatians 1:6 "another gospel, 7 which is not another, but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which WE [Paul] preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you tan that ye have received, let him be accursed

Some so called churches always use this argument of Paul against true believers. But it is not so, as God's Word is perfectly clear to whom this accursed is to fall upon.

Of which Peter, Apostle to the circumcision warns against, in 2 Peter 3:15 ...our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

“Praise God for your salvation!”

Indeed! And also for yours!

“Things, which if Paul was not raised from a Chief Sinner...”

Who better to understand the minds of sinners than one who was chief amongst them? When the Lord chooses his instruments, He chooses well.

Thanks for your kind words and keep up the good work!

“Some so called churches always use this argument of Paul against true believers. But it is not so, as God’s Word is perfectly clear to whom this accursed is to fall upon.”

Oh yes, I’ve seen this defense from some. They would like to say that none can preach the Word of Truth, unless they have a stamp of approval from some mortal. Yet, are we not all commanded to not hide our light under bushels? Shall we cower in the face of our equals and keep silent if they beg, through their words and actions, to be reproved?

The Lord set the apostles before us as examples. Did Paul seek the approval of men before he preached the truth God revealed to him? No, he proclaimed it freely, and the other apostles could not deny that he was their equal. Yet, today some practically deny the Holy Spirit by asserting that we have no means to understand the Word, much less authority to preach it, unless we rely on the teachings of men.

I pray the Lord is merciful to those who disgrace themselves by such behavior. Forgive them Lord, they know not what they do!
