I will enjoy that. I frequently talk to myself. Perhaps Satan has infiltrated me after all. Must have been during one of those heathen yoga sessions.
Even a basic knowledge of the Christian faith includes the understanding that there is a Satan who parades as an angel of light. Poisen has to be made unsuspect, attractive, and rewarding before one will then consume the deadly portion of the entire cup. We are in the age of clinical narcissism.
If we spent the tranquil yoga time on learning the faith of 2000 years, there would less time to entertain techniques of mind, body and spirit that are foreign to Christian practices. Centering prayer, yoga, and the rest are successfully infiltrating churches, mostly through “silly women”, I hate to say, but many of us are left gagging on New Age.
One can’t use tranquil yoga time to focus on the Christian faith? You know those “silly women.” We gave ‘em the right to vote and now they want to use an exercise program for strengthening, toning, and ballance, as part of a diabolical plan to overthrow Christian churches everywhere!
................and their divine is not the God of Christianity, they can and do connect with "others" masquerading as such and many will attest to their experience's. You may think you are only going thru the motions of Yoga, but if you are given a mantra you are evoking a false and counterfeit God.
Ok I just have to jump in here. Back in the 70’s, as a young woman, I became interested in yoga for exercise and relaxation. It was wonderful for these things, but over the course of several years, I became more and more interested in the Hindu philosophy that was at it’s root. My worldview did a 180 from basically Judeo-Christian to pantheism and New Age before I even realized what was happening.
The physical exercises, if done as yoga instructs, do affect the mind in a profound way. And I will say from experience that yoga opens doors to demonic oppression. When I got married, my husband told me I was having violent nightmares, which I never remembered. After I became a Christian and renounced yoga and Hinduism, I was spiritually harassed until I claimed the name of Jesus.
This may sound woo woo, but this was my experience. I’m currently taking a class from the professor mentioned in the article, Dr. Groothuis, and I assure you he’s no intellectual slouch - he has a PhD in philosophy. Hindu and New Age thinking has permeated our society more than people realize.
You had posted me a pretty firm statement on the Christian mind and what you approved for it. "If your mind is Christian, there is no harm in any of the ones that I have tried.".
I merely asked, are you a Christian?
Yes. I find solace in the Book(s). Your need to obfuscate is more than a bit disturbing. Changing the subject is a rather apparent sign. I need to ask. Are you a Christian?
God you left that class....the chanting is with purpose though most have no clue what that is. The guru’s of India and others have an agenda in this nation, one of which is to make Yoga and other Eastern practices palatible to the American people. They are being successful thus far. Just as with all cults and false religions they will not reveal the “plan” rather introduce that which is possible by making it something else than what it really is. People fall for this as they so lack understanding of Eastern religions.....let alone the Guru’s intentions.
Its nonsense like this that makes Christians seem like space aliens to regular people. It is entirely possible to do yoga exercises without knowing a thing about Hinduism or its teachings.
Agree 100%
Jesus spoke in English...?
That is a little Obama like, was that a firm yes, you are a Christian?
Well one would then wonder if it is helpful for physical well being why then is India such an impoverished country with sickness and disease a plenty...not to mention the mental state they have in their work ethics etc...which is directly from the religion and practices they adhere to.
Why would one assume a position as yoga in the first place, which makes way for Kundalini.....represented by a snake which travels up the spine to the brain. I would think people would not be so foolish to practice a ritual without first looking into it’s roots etc. I have stated before and will again...we are a nation people ripe for deception.
Amazing those who have no clue what they are doing by practicing Yoga....I am stunned by some of the posters ansell.
Some are simply nieve and then some....yoga is not simply stretching and breathing...it is by definition a ritual and religious practice, doesn’t matter if you believe it or know about it, it remains what it is.
Good point, points. You mistake Hindu, Islam, Christianity (%in order of population) for stretching and breathing. They are physical exercises for the most part. Breathing and stretching are good for people. I see no need to disparage the fundamental concepts.
Your posts keep getting further afield, and hostile, scattered, and angry, all I did after you posted to me what you thought was fine for the Christian mind, which I thought was odd, was ask you if you are a Christian.
I merely want to know if you are a Christian, but you evade that question which indicates that you are not.
Are you a Christian?
No, I am not mistaken. Yoga is what it is and far more than simply stretching and breathing.....anyone can do that without Yoga...there are many programs and videos which do just that. Yoga is by far more than what you have stated.
