A Vaticanist has published a list of the new Cardinals who will be named next week. The Pope continues the tragic tradition: talk Catholic and appoint old Liberals.
[kreuz.net, Vatican] Next Wednesday the Pope will hold a Consistory to reveal the names of new Cardinals.
This is from Vaticanist of the Italian News 'Il Foglio', Paulo Rodari.
The Consistory will be prepared for the feast of Christ the King on the 20th and 21st of November.
There should be more Prelates above 80 among the future Cardinals. They are not able to vote in the next Conclave.

Joan Lewis, the EWTN correspondent in Rome, has reported that Pope Benedict will call a consistory for the elevation of new cardinals very soon—in fact her informant thought it might happen today. If that informant was right in believing that an announcement is imminent (as many other Vatican insiders believe), and wrong only about the timing, then the next likely time for an announcement would be this coming Sunday, at the Pope’s Angelus audience.

Why do they think that Abp Wuerl is librral? He was sent to Seattle to straighten out Hunthausen (sp) in the 1980s.
Someone who carefully observes moves made at the Vatican, usually a professional or amateur journalist. Sometimes they call themselves “Vaticanologists” - used to be every Italian newspaper had one.
A disgrace that Wuerl is getting a red hat. He is the most prominent (being in Washington) of those bishops who insist that pro-abortion Catholics should receive Communion.

Actually, the effort to rein in Archbishop Hunthausen began with the appointment of then-Archbishop Hickey of Washington as an apostolic visitor to Seattle, in 1983. The fruit of his efforts - a letter by then-Cardinal Ratzinger to Archbishop Hunthausen - was then to be used by newly-appointed auxiliary Bishop Wuerl to fix Seattle. Some of Archbishop Hunthausen’s authority was actually taken from him and given to Bishop Wuerl, to implement the required changes.
However, Bishop Wuerl, I've read, proved ineffective in his mission, and within two years, all of Archbishop Hunthausen’s episcopal prerogatives were restored to him. Bishop Wuerl resigned as auxiliary bishop in May, 1987, and was then left hanging for the better part of a year, eventually winding up in February, 1988, in Pittsburgh as its ordinary.
So, he folded while in Seattle.
My impression of Archbishop Wuerl is that when he's being a Catholic, he's a rather devout and orthodox Catholic. The problem is that he's only a part-time Catholic, and a full-time Democrat.

sitetest basically covered it, but Bishop Wuerl has been quite a homosexual enabler during his career, working as the rector of one of the worst seminaries in Pittsburg as far as that goes.... 80-85....
LOLOLOL! I'm afraid that there are a lot of them like that. We moved from the Seattle area in 1986-7, so I wasn't around when he folded. I did know that Hunthausen never really took any punishment.
