The Antichrist Hoax
American Vision ^ | October 29, 2010 | Joel McDurmon

You can pretty much rest assured that prophecy teachers (pastor, preacher, “prophet,” pundit, televangelist, and the like) have little idea what they’re talking about when they use the phrase “the Antichrist.” It’s a dead giveaway that any such person has sold out dogmatically, uncritically, and close-mindedly to a particular system of end-times theology rather than a purely biblical assessment of the issue.

Why such a strong conclusion over the mere phrase “the Antichrist”?

Because no such character appears in Scripture. Let me explain.

Phantasm? hardly, and Joel Rosenberg is hardly the first person to mention it.

The Twelfth Imam story is a phantasm. It does not exist. It is a fable or legend of a pagan religion. Like Vishnu or Shiva.

This thread is about bashing Christians. Not about the anti-christ. TC has a history

Christians with a bad take on eschatology, who are keen on calling other Christians who do not agree with them all sorts of names. At your service.

"... Obama, Pelosi, & Reid, along with all they represent and desire, are “the antichrist?”

You forgot one. ;-)

So maybe Obama actually is an anti-Christ.

I can believe that

Yes, i agree that john was not referring to the end time beast of revelation when he was talking about the anti Christs, since they were already here how could it just be referring to the end time.

The king James version, makes it clear, as it is the only authorized version and while it may be a little harder to understand , it does not contradict its self like some of the versions translated from it.

The author makes it clear that the Bible accounts for several anti-Christ’s across history. Not the least of which is Nero who fits the 666 warning quite well.

The one coming will be the big daddy of them all. The one that will lead to the return of Jesus. You can't say that about Nero and the rest.

It’s been debated over and over but it already happened. There is no singular anti-Christ and John was referring to the Roman empire. But don’t let that stop all you lunatics waiting for the end times. Spark that bone and pass it around, dude.

There is really nothing to debate, it either will or it won,t.

I don,t think that the end time beast is necessarily an individual and it may not come with banners and flashing lights but it appears to me that it is here now.

By Johns own words in revelation
Rome was the sixth beast, the end time beast is the eighth beast, some what the same beast, but a different time.

Israel was restored as a nation in our life time as was plainly foretold over twenty five hundred years ago, and i think the end time beast is also becoming a reality.

He or she will know that there is no such figure mentioned or predicted in the Bible as “the Antichrist.” They will see through the myth.”

I think it could be either way but i think it probably means plural, still i wonder why the people who do not believe in the revelation of God tries to trash the king James?

Not too many years ago almost every one read the K.J.V and they still argued tooth and nail which means that people will read in it or ignore it to suit them selfs, and they do the same with these other so called translations.

There is no certainty that the next one is the last one.

Everyone sees history and the future from the perspective of their own lifetime.

We have no reason to expect to be a part of the end times, but should live each day as though it were our last.

there is no such figure mentioned or predicted in the Bible as "the Antichrist."

This prophesy of Christ to the Jews does not use the name "Antichrist," but refers to an apparent false messiah:

"I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive." (John 5:43)

The verse is often interpreted to mean that Antichrist will be widely accepted as the Jewish messiah.

The bible said we'd know the season and to watch Jerusalem. He divorced Isreal in the time of the kings but he didn't divorce the land. Israel was re-established in 1948 and that generation will not pass without seeing the End. If the oldest person lives to 120 years and was born or conceived just before that date in 1948, then the end will come at or before 2068.

Let’s be a bit more realistic about the meaning of “generation”, rather than a single long lived individual. That would be inside 80 and bring us to 2028.

I maintain you’re continue to feel exempt from the assertion that no man knows the time or the hour.

IF you did, what would you do differently?

Convince a large group that you’ve identified the Anti-Christ and prevail against him?

If I had to guess then I would guess around 2020. But it's possible for a person conceived in 1948 to make it to 2068.

I maintain you’re continue to feel exempt from the assertion that no man knows the time or the hour.

You must not know the difference between a season and an hour. The bible says we'll know the season, but not the hour or the day.

IF you did, what would you do differently?

Prepare for prison for 10 days and hope that I am one of the few that speak truth while the antichrist reigns.

Convince a large group that you’ve identified the Anti-Christ and prevail against him?

Prevail against his deception. Jesus said that even the elect will be tempted to believe the antichrist. He'll be very convincing, saying what everyone wants to hear. It'll be hard to resist.

Anti-Christ= Any group/individual that denies the truth of the Gospel, including many “Christian” pastors.
