Title: "On The Origin of The Species" - Charles Darwin
Sorry, I detect a disconnect here...
My problem with categorizing evolution as settled science is that you have to assume little things like life originated spontaneously. Assumptions are not proofs. You can go ahead and call it science if you’d like, but leave off the settled part.
If you knew the first thing about science you would know that all theories are accepted provisionally awaiting data that could refine or reject the theory.
And for gravity you have to assume little things like matter originating spontaneously. For plate tech-tonics you have to assume little things like there being an Earth there spontaneously for the plates to move around on.
Can you get it into your head that the theory of evolution has no more to do with the origins of life than the theory of gravity has to do with the origins of mass?
No? Not going to go there? Going to repeat your talking points that until evolution explains the origins of life you ain't buying it? Go on then. It would be hard to look more like a fool that blindly cannot deal with what I have repeatedly said to you in post after post, but you go on ahead with your bad self.
If you had actually READ “On the Origin of the Species” you would find that there was very little on the origins of life (a paragraph of speculation) and EVERYTHING ELSE was about how life, once it is there, will change and adapt through natural selection of favored traits.
How species originated is not how life originated.
A new species of fruit flies was developed in the lab, does that shed light on how LIFE ITSELF originated? No, it shows how natural selection works to create a new species.
You seem very obtuse to the point I have repeatedly made to you. Is it because you are incapable of understanding it, or because you are incapable of DEALING with it?
Where did it all come from? If you are truly scientifically-minded, you will want to know the answer to this fundemental question first. I have no problem believing it was all breathed into existence.
For myself I have no problems thinking that God used physical means to create this physical universe, no razzle dazzle miracle sauce required.
So your position is that unless we can tell where the virus came from, no science on how to cure it or treat it will be valid?
Unless we can tell where matter comes from, no science on gravity will be valid?
Unless we can tell where the Sun comes from, the theory of nuclear fusion will not be valid?
Honestly? Or is the your position because otherwise you might actually have to learn science, and maybe even read the books you talk about but haven't read?
My position is that I accept on faith God created the physical universe. I also believe that the physical universe behaves according to laws God instituted. He gave us a mind so we could understand and apply these laws to our world. That’s science.
All evidence suggests that God used physical means to create the physical universe, consistent with the physical laws that HE created and not in miraculous suspension of them.
And if, as all evidence suggests, God used evolution as a means for life to develop into various species?
Those with minds who have studied the subject come away with the knowledge that evolution is the primary theory of modern biology and has vast explanatory and predictive powers. That is science. A theory that explains the facts and predicts facts.
I have a very hard time believing that leftist vermin are made in God’s image but they certainly didn’t evolve. The leftists never made it past the pond scum phase.
