Fantasia’s post-abortion suicide attempt

PhotobucketI’ve not followed the life and times of Fantasia Barrino, American Idol’s 2004 Season 3 winner.

But when I read the tragic revelation last week that Fantasia attempted to kill herself in August following an abortion, I brought myself up to speed. Little did LifeNews.com know the backstory when originally reporting Fantasia’s suicide attempt, particularly when writing she “once chose life – when faced with an unexpected pregnancy.”

That was in 2001, when Fantasia, a 17-yr-old unmarried high school drop out, gave birth to daughter Zion (pictured, left, with Fantasia last week). Nine years later, at the height of fame and in the midst of an adulterous affair, Fantasia chose otherwise for her next unexpected pregnancy. Details came out during a child custody hearing November 22 between Fantasia’s former lover, Antwaun Cook, and his estranged wife Paula.

Antwaun Cook

Antwaun - is it intentional, or could they just not spell?

Fantasia? I actually liked her quite a bit (I no longer watch IDOL but did during her stint), and it’s sad to see her make such a horrible mistake(s) ... I think she was much better off before she was on that show ...

She never stood a achnace. After all, her mother named her after a Disney movie.

I suppose she has a sister named Cinderella, Bambi, or Snow Whi... (Okay, NOT that one); or a brother named Flubber?

The woman makes millions of dollars after winning American Idol, buys a nice house for her family and then (before the 2008 downturn), forecloses on her home !!

She then chooses to have an affair with (of all people ) A MARRIED MAN !!

She then overdoses on sleeping pills after finding herself in the middle of an ugly divorce involving the married man!!

What does she do for therapy ? Why go on a REALITY SHOW to broadcast her troubles to the world !!

Just goes to show that talent is wasted on some people.

The sad thing is this -— she group up in church and used to sing in a gospel group.

Well, do you remember Royko’s column on that? The one he had to take back and later apologize for?

Fantasia & Antwaun Cook

Former "American Idol" winner Fantasia Barrino has come under fire after she was accused of engaging in an affair with a married man and making sex tapes with the individual. It is clear that she made no effort to hide the relationship either, as her social networking profiles had pictures of the man on them. Papers were submitted by Paula Cook stating that her reasoning for divorce was that her husband had been engaging in an affair with Barrino. She also referenced a number of sex tapes as evidence that the affair was taking place. Cook has been separated from her husband since June, and is seeking custody of the couples too children as well as monetary support.

The divorce papers state that Fantasia Barrino and Antwaun Cook started their relationship after they met in a T-Mobile store in Charlotte, in August of 2009. The affair has been ongoing since that time, and Barrino started seeing Cook openly, despite the fact that he had a wife. She flew him to several US cities as well as vacations to Barbados.

“Antwaan” is another rendition I have seen in the supermarket on a name tag.

Gee, what a break for the kids. Give’em a name that will immediately segregate them from decent society, and a chance for a good life.

Pity.

What’s with this “unexpected pregnancy?” terminology?

If a woman has sex with someone, pregnancy should not be that much of a shock. That term would apply to the Virgin Mary, but not to anyone else.

Antwaun - is it intentional, or could they just not spell?

Can you imagine how many times a week this poor guy has to say into the telephone, "No, that's AntwaOOn, A-N-T-W-A-U-N... AntwaOOn..."

What a lowlife. Would someone please take her daughter and give that child a future in a loving home?

Is there even a correct way to spell that?

Reminds me of the name Catherine. There are 14 different ways to spell that.

Just goes to show that talent is wasted on some people.

i have never liked her singing, nor her performances... the last time i saw her perform was a few months ago with a handful of other artists... i thought her performance was awful... a lot of screeching and yelling...

“Is there even a correct way to spell that?”

I think Antoine is pretty much the normal expectation of spelling it ... I dunno, maybe it’s me ... he could have been named after a Toyota ... Tursell, maybe, I dunno.
