Daniel’s 69 Prophetic Weeks – Chapter 9 (KJV)

23. At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.

24. Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

25. Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

26. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

* Daniel’s vision has been interpreted with various methods of calculation from the time in the second rebuilding of the temple by Nehemiah in 445 B.C. to a later tangible crucifixion year in the ‘cutting off ‘ of the Messiah. Hence, an interpretation by Jewish reckoning counts 7+62 = 69 Sabbatical ‘week year periods’ every 7 years as shown in the chart below being derived from Benedict Zuckermann’s works;

‘A Treatise on the Sabbatical Cycle and the Jubilee’: A Contribution to the Archaeology and Chronology of the Time Anterior and Subsequent to the Captivity (trans. A. Lowy; London: Chronological Institute, 1866; repr. New York: Sepher Hermon Press, 1974).

+ 26/27 AD. 68th Sabbatical Year

+ 33/34 AD. 69th Sabbatical Year ‘Messiah is cut off’

* Sabbatical years were referred to as release periods where debts were forgiven, and the fields lay fallow to replenish the earth. Here the Jewish Sabbatical years are displayed from the autumn/Tishri to Tishri/autumn season overlapping the adjoining Civil calendar years. Thus, the passion event of the Messiah Jesus occurred on the 69th sabbatical year ‘after’ the order for the second rebuilding of the temple by Nehemiah in 445 B.C. at the time of king Artaxerxes 1 Longimanus. Thus, the resurrection day, the day of Pentecost, and the year of passion were all revealed significantly being emphasized through God as the redeemed ‘Lord of the Sabbath’.

What if the headline matches up with Biblical prophecy?

Is it still a fantasy then?

LOL!!

"Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” (II Peter 3:3-4)

No, I'm afraid that the headlines have not always matched up with Bible prophecy.

Scoffing at dispensational (or preterist for that matter) delusions is not denying Christ will return. Everybody got the details (and interpretation of the prophecies) wrong the first time around and it will be the same the second time. Now go buy your new Hal lindsay book - it’ll be in the fiction section.

"No, I'm afraid that the headlines have not always matched up with Bible prophecy."

Maybe not. Like for example only a total wack job would try to fit the latest food regulation headlines into bible prophecy. Right? Bwhahahahaha.

So give me some of the "delusions".

This should be interesting.

Since you are not a dispensationalist, how about premillennialist? Are you Premill? Postmill? Amill?

Also, you said you are not a preterist, does that mean you are Historicist? Futurist?

Bwhahahahahaha!!

But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. (2 Corinthians 2:14

“Many will be purged, purified and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand. (Daniel 12:10

Understanding Scripture and having the discernment to see the signs that Jesus Christ commanded His people to look for as evidence of His soon return requires that a person know Jesus as his Savior and have a personal relationship with Him.

When a person is blind to not only the Scripture that gives us the signs to look for but also to the fact that these prophecies are being fulfilled on a daily basis, that person has no spiritual discernment because he does not know the God Who gives spiritual discernment.

That person has a lot more to worry about that whether or not someone is a dispensationalist. Much, much bigger problems. Eternal destiny problems.

Hey PB, I agree with you. Their starting date is off, and there are two different annointed ones or messiahs, One is Cyrus and the other is a corrupt messiah who is cut-off. Righteous people are never cut-off.

"This is so inaccurate on so many levels"

You are in above your pay grade.....WHY?.......Because you dangle the prospect that you know something but stop short of explaining what you believe to be true.

In fact, why did you even stop on this thread to make a comment? You are not a believer so go your way and let individuals who believe, be free to discuss their faith. Why do you feel obligated to criticize?

Thank you. I used the same method as described in this article (just taking a date and backing into it) and guess what? I'm the moshiach!

II Timothy 3:16 (all quotes/KJV)

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Daniel 9:25, 26

Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall the Messiah be cut off…

* Many biblical SCHOLARS interpret ‘the Messiah the Prince’ from these verses as the One and only true Messiah being Jesus the son of the living Father. Thus being said, the ‘cut off’ point would pertain to a crucifixion year where the set scriptural conditions must have applied. For example;

John 11:9

Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours [light] in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.

Matthew 12:39, 40

But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be 'three days and three nights' in the heart of the earth.

Mark 8:31

And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and 'after three days' rise again.

Matthew 27:63

Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, 'After three days' I will rise again.

Acts 1:5 (on the day of ascension)

For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost (the day of Pentecost) 'not many days' hence.

I searched out your ‘User’ name to see that you use the word ‘dispensationalism’ quite frequently in your responses to other threads. That’s okay - I won’t take it personally!
