As Robert Bork so aptly put it, we are “Slouching towards Gommorah”. Europe has already passed the point of no return and the US is quickly following suit. The pillars of western civilization: marriage, Christianity, free markets, self-sufficiency, the rule of law and public decency, are crubling before our eyes. Once we reach the tipping point, the onset of anarchy will be sudden and far reaching.
Conservatives can only slow the descent into madness: they cannot stop it. The real contest will be whether conservatives can create a new Republic out of the ashes of the old, after the collapse. Between now and then, there will be decades of strife and anguish and only the strong will survive.
Maybe conservatives can’t. maybe God can.
