With all due respect, no Orthodox Christian would mistake this painting for an Orthodox icon.

I very much enjoyed reading this post. I hadn't really realized or thought about it, that the Orthodox iconographer does not paint the heart (because he feels it too personal). I liked their "word around" in this regard.:) I love icons, this one is so beautiful, and I have added it to our Blessed Virgin Mary Slide Show
