“For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall understand fully, even as I have been fully understood.” 1 Cor. 13:12
I noticed my favorite is in there. Romans 8: 37-39 I do prefer the king James version for these particular verses.
being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
I want to know Christyes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Excellent point. Wasn’t that a reading last Sunday?
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Tim 4:7
For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Romans 7 : 19
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
2For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.1 Corinthians 2:2
Greet one another with a holy kiss. They just shake their heads... although one took me up on it and kissed both me and my wife. :-)
LOL! Is a “holy kiss” one that doesn’t transmit the latest Creeping Crud some kid picked up at Sunday School?
Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Eph 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
Eph 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
Eph 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
“It’s my money and I need it NOW!!”
Is that from one of those paraphrase versions of the Bible?
An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.No takers yet although one tried to hit me (which is what I'm always expecting). :-) Hey, I have to mess with my wife's friends!
“They have exchanged the Truth for a lie and worshipped the creation rather than the Creator”
That is very clever.
>>Is that from one of those paraphrase versions of the Bible?<<
Yes, things really broke down when we left the King James version. I think there it was “It be MINE money and I doth needst it ANON!” (I am not sure if the operatic choir jumped from behind trees and bushes...)
Or from behind pews and pillars.
