Royal Wedding: Archbishop Backs William and Kate's Decision to Live Together Before Marriage
The Daily Telegraph (UK) ^ | 4/29/11 | Tim Ross, Jonathan Wynne-Jones and Gordon Rayner

The Archbishop of York has given his backing to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s decision to live together before marriage.

The Archbishop of York backed Prince William and Kate Middleton’s decision to live together before marriage, saying that many modern couples want to “test the milk before they buy the cow”.

Dr John Sentamu argued that the royal couple’s public commitment to live their lives together today would be more important than their past.

But Anglican traditionalists criticised the Archbishop, the second most senior cleric in the Church of England, for failing to reinforce Christian teaching which prohibits sex outside marriage.

The row came as Prince William and Kate Middleton unveiled their choices for the royal wedding service, which include classically British music and hymns, and an updated choice of marriage vows in which the bride omits the word “obey”.

In a television interview, Dr Sentamu was asked whether it was appropriate for the Prince, who is in line to become head of the Church of England as King, to have been living with his bride before marriage.

He said he had conducted wedding services for “many cohabiting couples” during his time as a vicar in south London.

“We are living at a time where some people, as my daughter used to say, they want to test whether the milk is good before they buy the cow,” he said. “For some people that’s where their journeys are.

without a permit, that is great, here it gets hot but cannot have open carry which I don’t know where you put a P229 concealed in shorts and flip flops.

We were looking to go to Tombstone as a family, then head north to Flagstaff and then on to the grand canyon but like I said gas is expensive right now but if it does go down then I’ll take your advice and not go in those 3 months you mentioned

I don’t see how mature it is when, in a debate on an internet forum, you insult the other person and tell him that you and your friends are having all types of negative thoughts about him.

It sounds like you’re the little kid who refuses to debate, but then throws out insults and cites the opinions of (possibly made-up) friends to say that someone has a problem in order to make them feel bad and “ganged-up on.”

Then maybe this is a case of being what I have. Then again, it’s all in the eye of the beholder so nothing is true, right?

The traffic is still bad, but a different kind of bad.

We have big trucks that love to go 30mph on single lane roads.

St Augustine is beautiful. Although, I haven't spend much time there.

Oh, and I'll be opening a cold one for myself very soon.

You ever been to Tombstone and if so is it worth the visit?

See, with posts like these, instead of admitting the other person is right or presenting a rational counterargument, you go with a personal insult. It’s seems to be quite a habit of yours on this thread, and it doesn’t make you look like the mature one.

I'm embarrassed to say I haven't, but it is a beautiful part of the state. If you go to Tombstone, you really should set aside time to visit the Kartchner Caverns.

While you’re in northern AZ, you might want to take the family on a hike in the Lava Tube. It’s an easy hike and I saw families with little kids in there. Just make sure to wear shoes with hard soles because the rock floor has a lot of sharp little bumps:

And just five hours from Phoenix is the Palm Springs Tram. It takes you from the desert floor almost to the top of Mt. San Jacinto where you can spend the day in the pine forest and have dinner in the chalet. It's cheap and a great way to spend the day:

You agreed to the following:

” Then again, it’s all in the eye of the beholder so nothing is true, right?”

So if nothing is true, then everything you say must be false, right?

None of which have anything to do with what the church teaches.

Question, do you see the highest good in marriage, ‘achieving orgasm?’

Most of my other posts on this thread did have a whole lot to do with what the church teaches. The church only teaches unitive and creative and they don't talk about orgasms in encyclicals. What they implicitly teach to sensitive people who take is seriously is sexual repression which comes out in other ways, mostly destructive psychologically, physically or both.

They're more common sense now, but little boys have gotten the message that women are temptresses and cause them to sin. Little girls get the message that they have to be like the Virgin Mary. Then puberty sets in, people either get a balanced view of that part of life or they get all screwed up.

Question, do you see the highest good in marriage, ‘achieving orgasm?’

No. But it's a whole lot nicer when it's a part of marriage. It's personal what a couple wants and expects from marriage.

Organisms are nature's trick to get a couple to procreate. Except for the Virgin Mary. Without those, most of the whole human and animals kingdoms would have died out.

Adam and Eve it appears didn't procreate until after the fall.

“Most of my other posts on this thread did have a whole lot to do with what the church teaches. The church only teaches unitive and creative and they don’t talk about orgasms in encyclicals.”

Again, have you bothered to look at the statue of the ‘ecstasy of St. Theresa?’

Yes, the Church teaches that the unitive and procreative should be together, but not just because it’s in the best interests of society, but because frankly, it’s all about the best sex.

Are you really going to be able to be pleasured when you are on artificial hormones that prevent you from experiencing your natural highs and lows?

“What they implicitly teach to sensitive people who take is seriously is sexual repression”

Balderdash. The Church teaches the radical statement that conjugality is best acheived in marriage. You can interpret that to mean, “the Church is rejecting my sexuality, ergo they are repressive of sexuality in general.”

or, you can interpret it to mean that the church rejects your choices because they believe them to be self-destructive and contrary to the ultimate goal.

“No.”

Do you believe that hormonal contraception hinders the body’s natural arousal responses?
