For those of us who know Him, these events mean that His return for His church is at the door, and the time that He will reclaim His creation and restore it to the way He made it before man wrecked it is very close. The time that evil and all those who love evil and revel in it and practice it is coming to a rapid and soon halt.
So while this Christ-rejecting earth will go through a period of judgment, these signs given by Jesus which are happening on a daily basis, are a constant reminder of the fact that God keeps His promises and He will soon return for His bride.
It's only doom and gloom for those who have chosen to reject Christ.

Biblical Prophecy surrounds *Israel* that is what signals the Final End Times.....
1948 was that pivotol point...These signs are not weather cycles nor global warming....They are the signs Jesus spoke of in the final days.......
When Jesus said there would be signs in the Sun Moon and Stars, he said it for a reason, so that the elect would not be caught off guard...
Many will be caught off guard, and you can see that just by the posts on this thread.....
So because the cicadas are coming after 13 years this is a sign the end is coming? Hmmmm.
Can you imagine living during the time of the Black Death when 1/3 of Europe was destroyed? Now THAT might have been a reason to think the end of the world was nigh (and it didn't even happen then).

Those were not the *End Days*...The world has always experienced tribulation...
The *Key* is and always has been *Israel* 1948 started the clock.....
The Return of the Lord actually does not revolve around the inconvenience and sufferings of Americans nor of only the areas around the United States. This self absorbed centeredness on American feelings and happenings is neither the basis of the Christian faith nor a good measure of, nor are we the sole measure for God’s calendar arrangement.

It happened last night here in Michigan. Strange flashes of lights in the sky, large boomers that shook the house, the satellite went out for a while (must be the government) and today all my back yard is under about 2 inches of water. OMG what am I to do....And just this last winter, we had white stuff on the ground ALL winter. Then it mysteriously disappeared. I guess its true global warming is causing some funny stuff to happen...
Hate to start an arguement here, because it happens I am a lover of Israel, as an elder brother, BUT Israel is not a Christian people, barely Jewish in this era and were declared a nation by reason of their borders alone. The Church is the new Israel to which you clearly see through out the New Testament. To the Church are the promises for Israel as the promise of the New Jerusalim.
The purpose of the Old Testament is to reveal to God’s Chosen People the land of milk and honey (Heaven), coming High Priest, Christ (the new Adam), the coming Church, the kingdom of priests, the family of God, the pruning of the old dead branch of the fig tree, the newly grafted branch, (Gentile believers) the Sacrament of Baptism over circumcision, etc., etc. The Church is become the spiritual children of Abraham.

I think Romans 11: 25-27 addresses your concern on Israel
25For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
26And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
Do you have catz excavating your bean patch, too? Probably not ... they don’t like to get their paws wet. I’m thinking of putting in more beans near the cilantro, which the catz don’t like.
But on topic ... I don’t see the point of this whole subject. If I believed current weather in Israel pointed to the end of the world in (fill in time horizon), what would I do differently? Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ? I do. Repent and believe the Gospel? Did that. Be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit? Done. Love your neighbor as yourself, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, lay up treasure in Heaven? I’m doing my best at it.
So what’s the point? I’m not going to stop paying the mortgage. I have a legal obligation, no matter what I think will happen tomorrow or next week or in 2014. I’m not going to leave my present obligations and do some “bucket list” nonsense ... no, I’ll still be changing diapers, pulling weeds, and making casseroles when the (literal or metaphorical) roof falls in.
So, so what? Anyone?
