With Huckabee out, the next in line for the fundie vote is Sarah Palin (Extreme hurl warning)
The San Francisco Sentinel ^ | May 14, 2011 | Sarah Jones

Posted on 05/14/2011 11:02:31 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Conservatives for Palin is rejoicing for the same reason some of you now have a dark cloud of fear hanging over your Saturday night. The fundie vote is up for grabs now that Huckabee is out and the second in line candidate is Sarah Palin. Yes, that’s right. Sarah Blood Libel Palin.

One day years ago, after the sportscaster fill-in job didn’t work out, a young Sarah Palin told a friend she wanted to be President one day. Today she wants it so bad she chokes on her own bitterness every time she has to say “Obama”. Palin has still not managed to disguise her anger and pettiness; it seeps through the hockey mom persona, visible in the curl of her lip and the jab of her accusatory fingers.

As always with Sarah, nothing she does makes any sense, leaving the pundits in the dark about her 2012 intentions. For example, it doesn’t look like she has a machine ready to run. She just parted ways with Scheunemann, her foreign policy adviser and only holdover from the McCain “Straight Talk Express” days, and is now palling around with Peter Schweizer, a fellow at the Hoover Institution and a former Brietbart blogger slash foreign policy adviser. Plus, we all know Palin doesn’t like to work. She quit her job, after all.

But she quit her job as citizen watchdog on the Energy Commission and used that to propel herself to the Governor’s mansion eventually. Who knew that quitting could be a stepping-stone? But in Sarah Palin’s case, it has been.

Sarah has ignored the advice of nearly every adviser out there, from Roger Ailes to Steve Schmidt and her polls reflect this. Palin is prone to paranoia and because of this, she doesn’t have many people she trusts. Or rather, there is no one she trusts.

Palin has made a seemingly endless stream of steady mistakes in the two and a half years since her powerful entrance to the national political scene. Through all of these transgressions, Palin has emerged relatively unscathed. Ironically the single largest thing that brought Palin down was her Blood Libel video. Americans loathe self-pity and Palin showed her propensity for it a little too clearly in that homage to her sense of victimhood and entitlement.

But she has kept a loyal following of far right conservatives and fundamentalists and given the way the Republican primaries work, Palin has a shot at winning her party’s nomination.

Palin is an enigma; she never governed like the rabid right winger she presents herself to be today on one hand – in fact, she was the most socialist governor we’ve had in a while – but on the other hand, she has always been a viciously competitive person who has never shied from using Evangelical siren calls of Jesus to further her ends. And Sarah Palin’s end is power.

No need for patience in this particular case. They've made their fear of Sarah quite plain from day one.

Nobody ever sought to be President for the dough, not even Barack Obama. You do need to be incredibly rich to run, however, and building up a sufficient bankroll may be why Sarah Palin is holding off.

It’s always amazing, isn’t it, to see articles full of hatred written by people who have no idea what it really is.

I guarantee this woman thinks Palin is a “hater”, yet the bile and vicious name calling in her article expose her as the true source of hate.

Well he got one thing right. Huckabee’s bow-out does open up the evangelical vote and Palin has been the next choice for many of them (never understood why they liked Huck better).

The column is worthless once you get beyond that fact.

You don’t get the kind of power Palin needs from being on Fox News or tweeting angry, illiterate tweets. Many say that if she were serious, she never would have done a reality TV show. Yet, her reality TV show was a transparent political ad from start to finish. The TV narrative of Palin as Reagan-esque hearty outdoorswoman who shoots guns and loves her family was poured on with the same dense thickness as the Myth of Sarah she sold in her first book, wherein she waxed poetic about robin egg’s skies, cotton candy, pretend angel wings and pro-life preciousness. All of life to Palin is a roll of quote of the day toilet paper wrapped in a flag. She doesn’t do subtle when she’s selling Sarah Palin (insert copyright here).

Palin does whatever she wants and so far, she’s made it work for her. Palin is way too ensconced in her entourage of security blankets to face the reality that a national campaign is different than a state campaign, particularly a state like Alaska where the unconventional is rewarded. And it doesn’t help that when Palin ran with McCain, she managed to successfully cow the press by demanding “deference” and refused to do interviews after her Couric and Gibson debacles. Yes, she believes she can run an entire campaign her way (hiding from a press she shames into acquiescence) and we will allow it.

She always said God would show her a way. With Huckabee out, it could very well look to her as if God is showing her the way.

Will she run?

No one but Palin knows the answer to that question, but anyone who thinks her bad polls and dislike of work will stop her doesn’t know Sarah Palin. Palin is ruthlessly ambitious and she believes that she is Queen Esther here to save America and turn it into a biblical country. Palin is a Dominionist and she has been told over and over again that she is the Chosen One. Her narcissism allows her to believe this unquestioningly and it mainlines her a steady drip of blind assurance that she can do it her way.

If Palin doesn’t run, it will be because her fear got the best of her. Palin is, after all, a coward of the highest order. She can’t face the press let alone opposition without her entourage of bullies to fight for her. As Mayor, Palin initiated a press black out and as Governor, she wasted state resources having aides write letters to the editor defending her. She’s a thin-skinned narcissist with relentless ambition. If you think she doesn’t want to be your President just so she can make you pay for anything mean you ever said about her, you don’t know Sarah Palin.

This wouldn’t be Palin’s first foray into a political abyss where she came out holding the prize. Luckily for us, the odds of her beating President Obama are slim to hopeless. But we must always remember Bush. And if memories of Bush frighten you, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Sarah Palin has been pegged as a daffy clown, but she is actually a dangerous, unstable and rather cruel person with a knack for abusing power. Sarah Palin said she wanted to be President so that the “Department of Law” could go after her enemies. She’s Nixon in heels, without the schooled intelligence but in a pretty, pre-branded package and she comes complete with a cult of followers who vote in Republican primaries.

No matter how satisfying it might seem to think of Palin losing to President Obama, a Palin candidacy will be bad for America. Sarah Palin is a wily, clever political animal who has successfully and deftly used fear and smear to avoid discussing serious issues in the past. Were she to run, she would spread poison and hate faster than a California brush fire. America certainly doesn’t need Sarah Palin’s boorish toxicity right now.

But we might get it anyway.

Typical PDS Palin hit piece with Alinsky guidance:

RULE 4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.”

RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”

RULE 8: “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.”

RULE 12: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

I wonder if the author is even capable of reading Palin or listening to her platform as conveyed in her speeches. A delusion is a false belief, so probably not.

The Chronicle loves Palin stories because it drives web traffic. Put Palin in the headline and it becomes on the most read list within days. The far left never wants to talk about the failures of their own policies but need someone to feel superior to. They are the idiots but just don’t realize it.

Thanks for the post of the full article, 2ndDV!

I get the feeling from the rant by the reporter, or whatever she is, that Sarah Jones is “Amish” and a racist.

She must have to take a lot of antacids to tone down all of that acid reflux that she apparantly experiences when Sarah’s name is mentioned.

That is one of the most hateful articles I’ve ever read.

Are those on the far left that support the pres__ent in the WH afraid, or what? ...Yes they are. Even they realize that Obama is an empty suit loser, so they are attacking everyone who might be his opponents.

I disagree - don’t confuse hate for fear. They clearly hate her the most because she assails Obama the most viciously, which they hate. Their worst case scenario would be watching Sarah get sworn in with Obama standing there (a visual that I’ll admit makes me giddy), but I think her really bad polling numbers with Independents would give the worst president in history a big advantage in 2012 - something he does not deserve. If we held the White House and Chuck Schumer were entertaining a run for president, we’d mock him over and above any garden variety Democrats also considering a run.

Progressives reserve this kind of venom for those they must "take out" of the political picture.

Sara Palin makes Obama look bad.

Obama's feeling the heat so he's "saying" he'll allow more oil production (but those in the know recognize "smoke and mirrors" foolery when they hear it).

You can smell the fear.

If Sarah runs, I hope and pray she is doing some work with her speaking style. The last time I heard her (at a Madison Tea Party), while everything she said was spot on (”fight like a girl”), she tends to shrieking. This is a huge negative to me, and I’ll bet to many others.

She needs to use Margaret Thatcher as her rhetorical model.

I disagree. She may not run, but if not it won't be for more money. She has already made more than she needs, so the real question is where she can do the most for America. I hope she will decide that is from the White House, and I'm certain money will not even be a factor in that decision.

I wonder if the author is even capable of reading Palin or listening to her platform

Nearly every line in the extended version of the article is taken directly from comments made about Obama. (narcissist, thin skinned, lazy, and more) As they pertain to Obama these criticism are based on the facts of his behavior. They do not describe Palin.

Liberalism is based on fantasy. Spinning the truth to match the fantasy of utopian idealism makes it possible for liberals to stomach their own lies. The only reality for a liberal is the one they pretend. Because they are so insistent upon fantasy it is not possible to engage liberals in a search for truth or a rational conversation.

Conservatives are constantly mining for truth. They will suspend disbelief to hear out a liberal, trusting that some truth may emerge. It never does.

After being led down the primrose path of Marxist ideology the conservative often finds it too late to easily backtrack to the truth. This is the tragedy of the RINO. They have walked, trustingly, hand in hand with zealots and now find they must justify their endless forays into the madness of taking Marxists seriously. They want to appear cooperative and reasonable, not understanding that one cannot cooperate with consummate evil and lies and deception are not reasonable.

Once the American people waken to the truth of evil there is war. It may be bloody or it may not but there will be war.

Let there be no mistake, Obama has opened Pandora's box of Marxist chaos. The demons cannot be hidden. The truth, finally, is shining and the lies are exposed. The shackles of uncontrolled government are right now being welded with pretty lies on the hands and feet of every citizen. That is the truth.

Palin's joy is throwing off the chains and living free. She comes out of Alaska, the final bastion of freedom. She will lead us forward to the land of freedom and truth that is our birthright.

Exactly. Liberalism always sounds good on a bumper sticker, but when put into action all sorts of "unexpected" consequences arise. The "Drilla from Wasilla", would win decisively, IMHO.

This article sure showed your own personal “dark cloud of fear”, Sarah. How ironic that you share the name of someone so much more worthy than yourself, yet feel free to libel her ruthlessly. “Blood libel” indeed.

Sarah Palin is the fresh breath of air and shining light that this country desperately needs. You and your slimy ilk will never understand how she wins the next Presidential election. Yet she will win, and America will benefit greatly. I expect in her first four years she will be more than able to turn around the terrible dissolution and funk brought on by your deity, 0.

Ha,ha , these endless hatchet jobs on Palin are more amusing for the contortions of hate and frothing at the mouth the scribblers go through writing them anything else. Undoubtedly, Miss Jones was sucking on a bottle of bile before she began this miserably, awful column of hate. Again we have a lib scribbler who never bothers to examine any of the issues and ideas about the role of government that Palin offers. Again we have a column almost totally consisting of ad hominem attacks. Obviously, she doesn’t have a clue about any of the basics of conservatism. Of course, it wouldn’t be much different whoever the Pubbie is, unless it was the biggest Rino in the field. These nuts, and Miss Jones is a queen-sized lunatic, are totally incapable of scrutinizing anybody fairly.

No, I'm not sure you do. Sarah still has young children, and being a mom is a full-time position. She is not setting a good example by leaving them to save the country. That's man's work. And possibly a woman's too, but after the kids are fully raised. In other words, she can't do a great job being our mother (caretaker of our country) until she's already completed this same task at home.

My point is that Todd can take care of the children and he often has in the past.

About saving the country and what is man's work and what is women's work, I will point you to two who have been fearlessly fighting to save the country. That's Palin and that's Bachmann. Both are females. Then I will point you to the typical male candidate, who seems to be afraid to voice a valid opinion without offending the left. That's Mitch Daniels.

That's the said reality.

Look, their is nobody who wants the job of saving the country to be man's work. As a proud guy, that's what I want. But the job of saving the country should go to somebody who has earned it.

Sadly, there isn't a male candidate (other than maybe a Cain) in sight.

Well said. We are at war with the marxist in the WH. No doubt this campaign is going to be many battles in a long war culminating with the battle of November 6, 2012, another "Day that will live in infamy".

Hey America, you want Presidential?

Sarah 2012!

Could you rephrase your question. Although I could join MENSA tomorrow by just showing them my ASVAB test scores, I find your post ‘above my paygrade’, as it were. Or maybe the Doritos and jalapeno dip have me stupified.

LoL. I went there to weigh in about the article, and got this: “Comments are closed.”

Methinks the Palin brigades got to the SFC rather quickly and they couldn’t stand the heat blowing back on their exposed arses.

Todd can take care of there kids, however they have one Special needs child and teen girls! YIKES that in itself is a full-time job, that IMO the mother is more suited as young girls trying to mature into responsible women...

Hopefully Sarah’s younger daughters will not be influenced by Bristol who has been stung by fame and money...
