Are you saying hell is not eternal? Please elaborate.
A happy child is a spoiled child?
I understand where you’re coming from, but I don’t look at happiness as a negative.

Here is a really good elaboration:
And this often results in people asking, “Yeah, but what about the parable of Lazarus and the rich man?”

I don’t either, but I know, based on scripture, that happiness was not the goal of Christians then. Joy in Christ is. And sometimes people are happy, but it is very fleeting in a fallen world.
“He must increase; I must decrease.”
(I guess losing your head is ONE way to ‘decrease’.)
That is the trouble with the USA today...
Thanks, good read much to ponder. It is good to look at Gods word and wrestle with it.
I never said a happy child is a spoiled child, and no I do not view happy as a negative, I think you miss the point. Blessings!
Absolutely not, I think the question is what is the source of our happiness and enjoyment. Again happiness is based upon circumstance it is a feeling. Joy is so much more than that and it lasts and it not based upon how one is feeling at the moment. For me Christ is my source, I delight in this life, in wonder of His wonderful creation and am filled with joy when I ponder His grace towards me. Much of the world however is made happy by possessions, circumstance and the affairs of life. They want the American Dream more than Christ.
And they are SURE that that dream is what Christ would want for them!

Happiness is one of those things that people define differently. It's one of those age-old questions. I firmly believe that God wants us to be happy and enjoy our time on earth. However, I also believe that true happiness only comes through following Jesus and keeping the commandments. The world equates pleasure with happiness. Two completely different things.
