I am currently listening to Harold Camping to see what his response to the lack of rapture would be. His response? The second coming will come on the second date he supplied, which was October 21, 2011, the date he originally stated would be the one after 5 months of suffering on which the world would be complete. His reasoning. He states that God is merciful and based on a letter from someone stated that God would not allow 5 months of continuous suffering and that man could not survive 5 months of wrath.
Disappointing, not surprising, continuing to perpetuate a heresy. A false prophet continues.
More proof that our universe is really software! The schedule keeps shifting to the right! ;-)
153 is a cool (triangular)? number (if there are any mathematicians out there that read this) but Camping is just plain illogical to make it 153 days of tribulation.
And when that doesn’t happen?
God has allowed us to suffer since January 2009.
This is ecclesiastical 24 business hours...
This time, folks, it's gonna work, I promise. fo shizzle ma nizzle!
he takes as many mulligans as Obama does on the golf course...
Would surprise me if he then claimed a year “zero” and made it 2012.
But then, he thinks Jesus is Michael the Archangel which is a somewhat-often-seen error as well.
I’ll take ‘Oh no, not again’ for $1,000, Alex”
It is amazing how he continues to point to the dates previous to May 21, 2011. Points to May 21, 1988 as the date where Satan was installed into the churches and that no one could be saved until 1994, when God would once again allow salvation through churches. Refuses to acknowledge error of any kind.
Q:What’s the worst way to comfort Harold Camping about the failure of his prophecies to come true?
A:Cheer up, it’s not the end of the world!

Okay, enough is enough. Camping is clearly out of his mind and anyone, anyone, who follows him at this point is equally out of their mind!
By the way, he states he has the press in the studio tonight and will allow questions. Will be interesting to see how he answers.
Prediction: when his 10/21/11 fails he’ll jump on the 12/21/12 bandwagon.
That means the Cubs will still fail to win the WS.
He is the head of a non-prophet organization.
Incredible. Camping says judgment did happen on May 21, 2011, but that a spiritual judgment took place. He maintains the dates are correct to the letter. I am dumbfounded.
Yeah this clown is well versed in the Bible, and that is why he never heard about Matthew 24:36?
Let me quote,
But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[a] but only the Father.”
He is what the Bible calls a false Prophet. Even if he really is a Christian, which I HIGHLY DOUBT, then he has made a fool of himself. Furthermore, he needs to resign as a man of the cloth. CLEARLY he is doing more harm than good. What a jerk!
He is now stating he has no blame in the loss of people’s possession. In a way, he is correct in that no one told people to take lavish vacations, spend like crazy, etc., but to not take responsibility for being the trigger for these actions is callous.
Why isn’t this guy employed by the Obama Administration?
where is there a reference to five months of suffering in the Bible?
Is he sure it's not October 22nd?
lol!
He is being asked tough questions and is bristling about what he makes. Started talking about how public officials make much more than he does and that he is trying to bring reality about his pay back to the conversation.
I still think there is a chance he actually believes what he is stating, but rather than being the broken guy from yesterday, he has become the angry man who cannot admit his error. He just stated that most cannot interpret the Bible as he does.
If a prophet is proud, his prophesy departs from him.

I’m listening to Harold live right now.
The man is insane. He is quite literally crazy. I always felt he was a bit of a nut, but wow!! His explanations that the churches have been taken over by satan. That the earthquake was spiritual. Seriously, just... wow! He is saying the bible says this - but he must be reading a different bible than me!
This man is just a danger, he’s a deluded heretic. Luckily my belief is simple and can pretty much be summed up by the nicene creed - and that’s it.
I once heard a Bible teacher say that the 153 fish represent the 153 nations on earth at some significant point in the past; an apparent allusion to Matthew 4:19 and Mark 1:17. Wish I could remember it all.
Oh my.
By coincidence, I have exactly 153 days worth of rations.
Excuse me, while I hide in my basement for the next 5 months playing video games, while you suffer and die.
Cheers!
But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. (Gal. 1:8)
I have no idea what his pay schedule is. Don’t know how his radio stations operate now, either, but back in the 80s when I was on the road a lot I used to pick up some of the stations from time to time. At that time they did not run any commercials; they relied on free will support from the listeners. Did/does Camping skim a portion of the support money for himself?
Well, Michael means ‘one who is like God’, which is another way of saying, ‘is’.
Archangel means ‘the main messenger.
It’s not unreasonable with that interpretation to say that it isn’t wrong.
Yes the 153 thing is just one of the many bizarre “interpretations” by allegory that Camping came up with.
This is from at least two weeks before his “date” - the article was put out before the video, but the video was still before his “date”.

It is wrong.
Christ the the Creator of all principalities and powers.
Christians judge angels in the afterlife. We will not be judging Jesus Christ as He is the Judge of all.

Basically telling those who gave up everything to put up billboards and travel to hand out tracts and warn the people to pound sand. Says those who have nothing will cope. Incredibly cynical.
Now speaking of acting humbly while speaking with an arrogance that is outrageous. Presser is done.
You’d be correct if the Archangel was merely an angel and not God Himself.
Lemme guess, you’re SDA or JW?
Camping just said he’s not responsible for people who are broke from his advice (I agree, as, if you were dumb enough to believe him you are a danger to yourself) What is weird is how he is brushing the stories off and that being broke can sometimes be the best thing for you. Wow!!
I have never heard such balderdash! Again, I believe Harold Camping is insane - anyone who listens to this false teacher is in serious trouble!
Also he said that God has already chosen who’s saved, so if a Hindu who doesn’t believe in Jesus, but is on the saved list he’ll go to heaven, regardless of his belief - this is just more loony hypercalvinism (Camping’s a calvinist btw). This is madness.
Scientologists have the best predictions. They’re scientificological, doncha know?
Yes he comes off as hyper-Calvinism. One his followers plastered her car with the stickers but apparently voiced similar thoughts.
My question to her would be: So why are you bothering to tell anyone?

He’s not deluded, he’s a confidence man. Sadly there are those, even after being burned, who will turn back to him. Because they can’t bear the thought that they have been suckered by a fraud.
I am an SDA.
Our viewpoint is it is another title that Christ had. In Bible times, they took names and titles very seriously back.
And Christ had a pre-existing form, which means He also had a pre-existing name.
My arguement is that Michael is His name from eternity.
It’s not simply the name of an angel, for not even Lucifer could fit the profile of One who is like God and there is no more important messanger than God himself.
And callous.
Yeah, it’s usually found in SDA or JW.
Well, we’ll just have to agree to disagree.
:)
You are exactly right on that.
My sister has a tinge of calvinism and she is driving my nieces and nephews away from Jesus constantly - I have to do damage control from whatever nutty thing she says.
It’s this crazed legalistic theology - much as the pharisees believed - that drives people away from what is good. Just as Camping with his legalism and crazed harsh interpretations drives people away. It just isn’t christianity at all.
The JW’s are different though. They believe that Christ is created, whereas my church preaches that Christ is separate from the father, but still fully God.
I have no problem with agree to disagree. I’m not here to argue about differences or to try and convert people to my point of view.
Ping to read later
Dang, forgot to carry the 2 AGAIN...
I usually mention to hyper-Calvinists that the Great Commission makes no sense if such were true.
