Krispy Kreme’s doughnuts for Ramadan
The Malaysia Sun Daily ^ | August 18, 2011

Posted on 08/18/2011 11:02:01 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

KRISPY KREME is celebrating Ramadan with two new limited edition doughnuts which are set to win the hearts of doughnut lovers out there.

Throughout this month, Krispy Kreme outlets nationwide will carry the kurma delight and pistachio raisins doughnut in addition to its existing range of core and assorted flavours, giving a new twist to traditional delicacies eaten during the fasting month.

The first doughnut on offer, the kurma delight, is a traditional yeast-raised ring doughnut dressed with white chocolate icing and accompanied by a premium date, and then finished off with a drizzle of Krispy Kreme’s chocolate.

The pistachio raisins doughnut, on the other hand, is a ring doughnut coated with a unique chocolate pistachio icing and then topped generously with raisins and chopped pistachios, creating a unique bite of fresh flavour.

Adding to the Ramadan spirit, Krispy Kreme stores at Berjaya Times Square, Mid Valley Megamall, Sunway Pyramid and Plaza Shah Alam are having a special promotion in which customers will receive two free doughnuts when they purchase any four doughnuts between 4.30pm and 7.30pm throughout Ramadan.

I’m wondering which end of the camel produced the white icing.

I don’t think this is even in the U.S. Shouldn’t companies meet the demands of their markets? Malaysia is a Muslim nation. Who cares what kind of doughnut they eat?

I note that these Krispy Kremes are located in the world's largest islamic country.

They should, but it’s a U.S. company, and it fits into a long pattern of corporate “sharia compliant” product creep.

Well, it’s Malaysia, not Indonesia, but yes, it’s a Muslim country. Coming to a Michigan Krisy Kreme near you.

Ooops. My bad. Still, any company needs to serve its public. (That doesn’t stop us from being disappointed though)...

Krispy Kreme deep fries their donuts in a combination of beef and pork lard. Eat up Mohammedans!

Dunkin Donuts are better than Krispy Kreme anyway.

They can shove their Muslim donuts.
