The Archbishop has a valid point and he is to be applauded for making it. However, he needn’t have restricted his observation to religious matters. I find it a generally reliable practice to take what these “news” organizations report or conclude and assume the opposite to be true.

The news outlets CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, and MSNBC...

Or doubly so for MSNBC.

Indeed. We knew this. It would be more helpful if he made an attempt at explaining WHY they are leftist antichristian propaganda vehicles.

And not only those organizations. We have just witnessed an extraordinary event—two million young people witnessed to Christ in a supposedly post-Christian Europe, in a country ruled by a failed socialist government that has destroyed its economy while imposing the twin evils of abortion and homo marriage. And nary a word about it in most of our media. Except for the BBC looking for Spaniards to complain about the “cost.” Cost, my foot: more than a million and a half visitors to Spain dropped millions of dollars on that bankrupt economy.

A failed socialist government that will most likely be replaced by a much more conservative government in upcoming early elections this year.

I’ve got news for the Archbishop. The Media isn’t trustworthy about anything.

The way to handle journalists is with a no comment, GTF away from me.

I would like to know the % of priests and bishops that use the Times as their main source of information.

Judging from the support American bishops give to socialism, a high percentage regard the NYT as Scripture.

A few days in Denver while he was Archbishop there were like a breath of fresh air compared to this diocese.

Chaput knows about the media. He has a minor feud with the NYTimes which misquoted him (And he had the audiotape to support his version of the interview).

It might be obvious to all of us, but Archbishop Chaput was talking to a crowd of young people, who don’t have the benefit of our experience in this matter. It’s good for them to go into that battle of wits armed with the knowledge that there is a great enemy arrayed against them, and their Faith. They will be the better for that information, even in dealing with their peers, who are getting THEIR information from that same media.
