Krasnogorsk, August 25, Interfax - Optional classes on elementary Orthodoxy will be introduced in children's day care centers of the Moscow region, the Minister of Education Lidiya Antonova said at a Moscow regional teachers' forum.

"In 2011-2012, we introduce a new course on Orthodox Culture in young children's care system. New resource and reference materials will be released by September 1," Lidiya Antonova said.

The course is now introduced in 430 centers with 27,000 young children enrolled.

The optional course called "Benign World of Orthodox Culture for Young Children" will be introduced in 650 daycare centers of the Moscow region. This course is optional and children will take it only with parents' consent," Andrey Finogenov, head of the regional management department of the Ministry of Education, told Interfax.

These are government-run child care centers, introducing the Russian Orthodox world view to future citizens. Seventy years of secularism under Communism has left Russian society a hollowed out husk, and this is their attempt to fill that void with the higher values of their pre-Communist culture.
Contrast this to our own government that is busy adopting Communist secularism in all state-run agencies, especially early childhood centers and public schools in order to ban the mention of God to the next generation.
How foolish and evil. We will get what we deserve when our nation sinks to the level of failed Communist states all over the world.

I know I would be an antagonist in todays world if I was in school....Getting everyone at our table to say grace seems right....what are they going to do?? Kick us all out?? If they said anything, the next day, I would get the group to come in with tape on their mouths....say nothing, eat nothing...and see what happens.

I mught also get the girls to put pillows under a shirt...and wear shirts they say...Wow, this load is inconvenient. Don't worry...the doc said he would kill it.

Though Orthodox, it's still Christianity!

Good for them.

Paul Harvey used to occasionally speak of the US and Russia passing each other going in different directions.

Russia is becoming Russia again.

That means there will be conflict over “lost” lands of Holy Russia in North America someday. But to be honest Russia is much better than the Soviet Union.

They are taking up the mantel of Christendom, after the West has rejected it.

Russia experienced the real life consequences of Communism while the US hasn’t. We have a generation butchered by abortion, but it’s something that hasn’t yet been felt except by the social security offices. It will take something real shellshocking to make it apparent the damage that our irresponsible culture has caused to the US to put a stop to this march.

Russians miss being able to rely on someone other than the State to solve their problems. God doesn’t knock on your door at night and drag family away at gunpoint.

We do more of that in the USA than in Russia right now.

Sadly.
