Here’s Camping’s statement from Sept 23rd in Canping’s words.
Camping said
I do believe that we are getting very near the very end. We have not known. We have learned there are things that we didn’t have right. But God in his good provision didn’t tell us everything or else we could not used of him to bring about the tremendous events that happened on May 21st of this year. That will PROBABLY be finished up within the next month and will probably end on Oct 21st. That looks like it it might be right now it looks like it will be the finish of everything.
Notice the word PROBABLY in this and notice how Camping is not as confident as he was going in to May 21st.

Camping is a false prophet, by biblical standards.
Dr. W. Robert Godfrey, the president of Westminster Theological Seminary in California, who was converted as a high school student in the congregation where Camping was once an elder before Camping led a secession to start an independent church, has some interesting items on Camping on the WTSCA website.
Read these and it may give some insight into how far off Camping has gone:

Camping is not just wrong, he’s a false prophet. There is a difference and the Christian community has to deal with him in very different ways from run-of-the-mill mistakes. He is bringing the gospel into disrepute and is quite likely being used by the devil as a tool to do so.
