God chose Mary for Jesus to come into this world.
Jesus chose Mary for us before leaving the world, ‘Behold thy mother’.
No human being has been so blessed.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you.
Thank you God for giving us Mary our mother.

Imagine what Paul could do on a forum such as this. They would prance in, but limp out...Chesterton included.

Not much I'm thinkin'...Not as long as you have Bible Believers on one side while you have Catholics on the other...Chesterton's machinations do not trump the scriptures...

Is that the guy who taught Jesus the Gospel?

No, that’s the guy Jesus taught the Gospel of the grace of God to.

Chesterton and ALL Catholics believe in SCripture. You know, I doubt that Chesterton would even give some protestants the time of day.

He didn’t bear insults well.

(And for your information — neither does God.)

You will eventually have to answer for all your insults to the Blessed Virgin Mary. After all, she was the Mother of Christ, God Incarnate!

We don’t worship Mary and neither did Chesterton.

I don’t see where St. Paul would differ from Catholic beliefs at all.

Protestants just tend to read him differently. And remember, that Luther chanced some words in those Scriptures.

You need to check out the Vulgate that was finished in the year 404 by St. Jerome.

Jesus disagrees with you.

Lk 11:27-28 27 And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. 28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

Catholics are saved at their Baptism. Born again to a new life.

That scripture is one I am familiar with. However, Jesus never would have been able to utter those words, had it not been for the Mother of God made Man, the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Chesterton means nothing to me...Just another heretic in a long line of 'em...

I have never insulted Mary...It is you guys who insult Mary...Making a deity out of her...Bowing and praying to her...Putting her on a throne in heaven...Telling each other that Mary provides the grace that only Jesus can give...

I am requesting that this thread be locked because some of the particpants are not adhering to the rules for posting on an Ecumenical thread and are being antagonistic.

Chesterton did not bear fools gladly — and neither do Ecumenical threads bear those who wish to be antagonistic gladly.

Good-bye all!
