Pray for our American Heroes and Nation

Great Shepherd, we come to You again based on our need for You and love of Your ways. Continually, we want You to increase and us to decrease. We yield our lives, our time and our steps to You. Guide us, Spirit of God, today and help us to pray Your will.

Before Your throne, Sir, we bring the American military men and women You have given us. Give them instruction and cause Your purpose for each one to stand. Teach them the fear of the Lord and guide them by Your Word, Your still, small voice and godly leaders. We ask You for victory and a safe return for each one. Thank You.

The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nought; He makes the thoughts and plans of the peoples of no effect. The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the thoughts of His heart through all generations. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His heritage. (Psalm 33:10-12)

We pray for the United States of America. Let Your counsel stand and convict hearts to seek You and follow after Your ways of doing and being right. We believe we were chosen by You. Return us to our foundation and let Your purposes for us be fulfilled. Thank You for bringing rot and corruption to the light so that we can cleanse ourselves.

We, Your people, called by Your name, worship You and thank You for every good thing You have done and are doing. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Almighty and Eternal God, Protect our military as they discharge their duties. Protect them with the shield of your strength and keep them safe from all evil and harm.
May the power of your love enable them to return home safely to the people who love them and to the gratitude of the American people.
