Bangladeshi Christian Convert’s Life Threatened

Dhaka, Bangladesh, (Compass Direct News)- “They will cut me into pieces, they will try to kill me anywhere, anytime in Bangladesh and the police and authorities will not protect me.” Sarder Faruk stated, a Muslim converted to Christianity, 1998. He has applied for protection from the US Immigration officials as he believes police in the 88% Muslim Bangladesh would do nothing to protect him from Islamist threatening to kill him. There are many records that show a converted person is not protected by the police, authority and society. Faruk has come from a prominent family who’s father is the ex-senior assistant secretary retired government bureaucrat Sarder Azhar Ali and family choose not to make any comment or be involved. The family does not want to be considered a “social outcast” as Muslim predominates Christian religion. A man of a noble muslim family cannot be a Christian, and the society cannot accept it, said a family friend identified only as Syed. Adding that “We are also surviving the society at our own peril.” Faruk is waiting to review his case before Immigration Judge Denise Noonan Slavin at Miami Immigration Court by late October this year.
