Gay Episcopal Bishop to Preach at San Francisco Catholic Parish
Catholic Culture ^ | 11/22/11

A notoriously 'gay-friendly' parish in San Francisco has invited an openly homosexual Episcopalian cleric to lead an Advent Vespers service.

Most Holy Redeemer parish asked Bishop Otis Charles, a retired Episcopalian prelate, to lead the November 30 service. After serving as the Bishop of Utah from 1971 to 1993, he publicly announced that he is homosexual. Divorced from the mother of his 5 children, he solemnized a same-sex union in 2004.

What is most appalling is the excuses and justification we here from Catholics and the almost complete absence of condemnation of this sort of thing or the RCC leadership in not addressing it from all the FRoman Catholics on this board.

If everything was as it should be, this would be the case.

And why isn't it? Where's the pope on this and the cardinals?

Just what is stopping them from making everything as it should be?

Reminds one of another scandal, doesn’t it?

But let a Prod bring up sin inside the Roman Catholic Church and you are a bigot, guilty of hate speech, etc.....

no excuses from this Catholic.

what we are witnessing is the great falling away from the Church that the Scriptures tell us will happen right before Jesus returns.

Satan has been loosed and the plague of homosexuality and other immorality spreading like wild fire in the Church is the result.

the true remnant is in real tribulation over these developments.
the two witnesses ( a picture of the Church spreading the Gospel to the world ) are indeed dead and the unsaved world is rejoicing!!

what should worry those on this board that claim to be Christian is they seem to be rejoicing as well!!

this fact goes right over their heads.

where are the pope and cardinals???

great question!!!

the truth is they lost their first love ( if they ever had it ) and would rather serve the god of this world than Jesus Christ.

the end is near my friends.

Aren't you Catholic? If so, then why stay there, knowing what you know?

COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM.

>>the truth is they lost their first love ( if they ever had it ) and would rather serve the god of this world than Jesus Christ.<<

The Catholic Church crossed that line firmly and completely in 431AD in Ephesus when they embraced the pagan practice of worshiping the Diana “queen of heaven” in order to get more attendance in the “pews”.

i am Catholic, not a Donatist. ( google it )

The fact a pope, cardinal or bishop commits sin by not protecting the sheep they are in charge of, is their sin.

the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Faith is true whether one person believes it or millions believe it.

Jesus Christ has the words of everlasting life, where would i go?

to me, this is powerful evidence the Word of God is absolutely true and the end of the world is near.

Satan is sitting in the temple.

Jesus Christ has the words of everlasting life, where would i go?"

How about to the gospel of your salvation? How about to where Jesus Christ's words ARE? In the Bible. Not in a religious institution. Eph. 2:8,9 is a good start. 1 Cor. 15:1-4 another. Also 2 Cor. 5:14-21.

BTW: "Satan is sitting in the temple."

"Know ye not that YE ARE the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in YOU?" 1 Cor. 3:16. Satan is NOT sitting in the temple of God. The believers in this age of grace are the temple of God. And we are IN CHRIST.

read Matthew 24.

BTW - the Church is not a “religous institution”, Christians know it is the Body of Christ on earth.

The Catholic Church IS a religious institution.

The body of Christ is made up of saved believers. THere is no one in the RCC who claims they are saved, or can even KNOW if they are saved while they are on this earth. So no, the Catholic Church is NOT the Body of Christ on earth.

But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one. 12For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge?

Even if they've made a decision for Christ? Even if they believe?

Matthew 25 is very clear that Jesus will judge our works.

Do you believe in the gospel?

How about to the gospel of your salvation? How about to where Jesus Christ's words ARE? In the Bible. Not in a religious institution.

So how did folks manage before there was a New Testament? Such as during the early weeks, months and years following the Ascension of Jesus? Read Acts 15, for instance. A dispute arose in Antioch over the question of circumcision. Paul and Barnabas returned to Jerusalem to consult "the Apostles and Ancients". It was the Church, not a book, which gave a ruling.

The early Christian communities, such as those at Antioch, couldn't say "let's see what the New Testament says". There wasn't one.

First came the Church. Then came the New Testament. Not the other way around. The New Testament didn't drop out of the sky when Jesus ascended. The documents which are now contained within it, first had to be written, then collected and assembled, then distributed. In the interim, life went on. For quite some time. The Gospel was preached, disputes were settled, evangelists were commissioned. All without out a single New Testament.
