VATICAN, November 28, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – One of the highest ranking cardinals in the Vatican has said that the United States is “well on the way” to the persecution of Christians. Cardinal Raymond Burke
Cardinal Raymond Burke, former Archbishop of St. Louis and now the head of the Vatican’s highest court, told Catholic News Agency that he could envision a time when the Catholic Church in the U.S., “even by announcing her own teaching,” is accused of “engaging in illegal activity, for instance, in its teaching on human sexuality.”
Asked if the cardinal could even see American Catholics being arrested for their faith he replied, “I can see it happening, yes.”
In his remarks to several U.S. Bishops meeting with him Saturday, Pope Benedict XVI made similarly emphatic warnings about the U.S. The pope told the bishops that “the seriousness of the challenges which the Church in America, under your leadership, is called to confront in the near future cannot be underestimated.”
He added: “The obstacles to Christian faith and practice raised by a secularized culture also affect the lives of believers.”
In the interview published today, Cardinal Burke declared that “it is a war” and “critical at this time that Christians stand up for the natural moral law.” Should they not, he warned, “secularization will in fact predominate and it will destroy us.”
Pope Benedict too urged the bishops of the United States to speak out in defense of morality. “The present moment can thus be seen, in positive terms, as a summons to exercise the prophetic dimension of your episcopal ministry by speaking out, humbly yet insistently, in defense of moral truth, and offering a word of hope, capable of opening hearts and minds to the truth that sets us free,” he said.

Yes, there is good reason to doubt if the Constitution will prevail. Even conservatives fail fail fail fail to address the problem of socialist and godless schooling. It is urgent. We must permanently shut down the godless socialist-funded schools. Conservatives must work to see that every child in this nation has access to a private educational setting that supports the Judeo Christian culture of Western Civilization and our nation's founding principles.

My daughter taught in a Texas Catholic K-8 school. All of the teachers and the principal voted for Obama. Her class was the **only** class whose children did **not** watch the inauguration of Obama. ( She did not renew her contract.)
I wonder if the teachers in this “Catholic” school attended our nation's system of socialist and godless schools and then went on to earn teaching degrees from Marxist infested socialist-funded and godless colleges and universities.
By the way....I read that there is a movement among believing and faithful Catholic families to start their own independent schools. Families get together and hire a teacher. Seems like a good idea to me.

Would it suprise you that when the “attacks” start to go to other churches, than it becomes a whole different ball game. Than Christians in the USA WILL HAVE NO CHOICE but to stand in union with each other.

Diocesan and Jesuit schools are even more dangerous than public schools for Catholic students. While both venues are anti-Christian, the modernist “Catholic” schools specialize in specifically targeting the Catholic faith for destruction.
I remember a few years ago there has been an effort by the Vatican to reing-in the Jesuits BIGTIME.
Look for more efforts to have that extend down the road to Catholic centers of learning if it is not being done now.
Catholic schools will be cleaned up, but not until the spirit of Vatican II is first exorcised from the Rome itself.
Thankfully, I sense we are in the process of the Vatican reining in the schools as well. Did not Pope Benedict when he was here in the USA for a short time a few years back touch upon that?
Also, with the changeover for the English-speaking Catholics to the new Roman Missal, which IMHO was even a BIGGER changeover than for the other languages, that is truly telling of things to come.
Remember that English is a major, major international language. So this is for all purposes, major changes.

RBIEL2 you are completely correct in you analysis of the tactics used by the liberal/ Marxists. They are like wolves in that they circle about the weakest and then harass and harry until they can go for the hamstrings to bring the victim down.
jacknhoo....You are correct that our population is in a weakened state because generations have attended socialist and godlessly secular government schooling. The children who attended socialist K-12 school from the mid-1800s to early 1900s are the adult voters who thought that the socialist Franklin D. Roosevelt walked on water. And....Our nation's socialist schools have been godlessly secular since my grandmother's day ( born 1894). That puny little nod to God in her morning classes was insulting. What does Christ do with the lukewarm? He spits them out of His mouth!
If our nation's citizens had been raised to fear God and if their educations had fully supported the specific Judeo Christian beliefs of their families the tactic outlined by RBIEL2 would have been completely ineffective.
Look for angry blowback.
