Sandy IF you really believed the words of Joseph Smith you would NOT be lds.
And that means what?
And?
It’s a Mormon boy band that she is promoting.
“LDS return missionaries singing a ccapella Oh Holy Night - Merry Christmas”
The most beautiful heresy!
Every Jew was required by the Levitical law to pay three tithes of his property:
one tithe for the Levites;
one for the use of the temple and the great feasts; and
one for the poor of the land - Numbers 18, Deuteronomy 14
So.... any church that makes tithes mandatory should be spending AT LEAST ONE THIRD of their income on the poor since that is what was required under mandated tithing and should be requiring 30%.
Looks like according to Resty, all Mormons are robbing God.
I always find it amusing that Mormons ASSUME (and you know what happens when you assume) that Christians who are under grace and are not subject to the tithing settlements and control of Mormonism must pay less than 10%. That whole premise is ludicrous. When giving is from the heart, not mandatory tithing, Christians almost always give more than 10%.
So, Resty, make sure to give 30% next year as required or else you have robbed God.
Thanks again for all you do, reaganaut!

Yes reaganaut this is the covenant all children of the Lord should strive to live.
Show me in the Bible where man has to report to man with a written proof of tithe. lds tithes are to man, We are to tithe to God Almighty the Eternal God as a worship and support of His church (which is not a building and secret ceremonies).
You dodged the question, Resty. Do you pay 30%?? If the LDS are going to appeal to ‘the Law’ regarding tithing, then they are under the WHOLE of the Mosaic Law.
Do you even understand who Melchizedek was?
Sandy, oh Sandy. What you believe about Christ matters, and the LDS believe in a very different Christ than the Bible.
You can say the words and still not be a real Christian - it happens. However, real Christians know who believes. As Shawn McCraney pointed out more than once, a believer can tell when people are just paying lip service.
And most importantly, it is IMPOSSIBLE to remain LDS and be a born again Christian. Like Shawn, Sandra Tanner, Rocky Hulse and millions of other ex-mo’s when you really come to believe in Christ instead of Mormonism - you leave. You spiritually cannot stomach sitting through sacrament meeting.
And singing a song doesn’t make you a Christian. Even Johnny Cash admitted that he sang gospel songs and even had gospel albums, but didn’t REALLY accept Christ until years later when God finally broke him. I am praying that God will break you, break your pride that keeps you in Mormonism, and release you from the chains of that evil cult before it is too late.
Still doesn’t make them Christian. Did you know that there are Jewish groups and artists who have released Christmas albums?
Even the Gay Men’s Choir sings Christmas songs, and quite beautifully I might add.
I pointed that out to Sandy earlier in the thread...anyone can sing Christmas songs, that doesn’t mean they are Christians, but like Most LDS, there seems to be a trend on here that just because Mormon groups sing Christmas songs they MUST be Christians. It doesn’t work that way. I even know some atheist/agnostic musicians who have put out Christmas albums.
You dodged the question, Resty

So now you want to play Bishop
...reminder you are not one of the Lord’s anointed!
So now you want to play Bishop
...reminder you are not one of the Lords anointed!
= = = = = = =
Mormons ‘play bishop’ all the time. You are not one of the Lord’s anointed either, but then again no mormon is!
I’m just trying to get some consistency...Mormons cannot, on one hand appeal to the OT as proof of ‘tithing’ and not follow what the OT says about it.
To avoid being hypocrites, the LDS MUST give 30%, its that simple.
lds blather place marker
Read all about it in this 1700's era book:
Does this mean LDS "mormons" AND Swedenborgians get to go to heaven ?....Like Ray and John who were recently married in the San Francisco Swedenborgian "Temple" ?
"John and I want to thank you and the SF Swedenborgian church for allowing us to have our wedding and reception at your beautiful church facilities. Our guests all said it was a very special, intimate space for a wedding, made all the more memorable by the wonderful church staff. Sincerely,
Ray and John"
