God is not a God of evil – rather, our God has permitted Satan to influence all the affairs of nations, cities, municipality, community, etc. This is clear because the present course of this world is filled with sin, wars, murder, illness and sickness, etc.

Satan is the Adversary. Satan does not work WITH God – he works against God as the Adversary. God permits this, but this work and plan of Satan is not God's plan. God forbid!

Furthermore, scripture clearly shows that God permitted Satan to blind the minds of people. This demonstrates how strong an evil influence Satan has on the world and its people.

II Corinthians 4:4: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

In this passage Satan is referred to the god of this world. However, this is a title that Paul gives Satan in view of the fact that the true God is presently withholding the day of his wrath upon Satan's plan of evil in this world. Satan is not God, nor is he 'a god'. Nevertheless, the language Paul is using to describe Satan as the one engaged and propagating false gospels and 'other gospels' and blinding the mind to obscure the 'light of the glorious gospel of Christ' and distort the grace that 'shine unto them' from God's grace.

"How can God, being all good, allow anything like a Satan to exist?"

Because He believes in Choice, Liberty and Freedom.

Do you believe that humans are capable of valuing freedom, but God is not?

THEODICY. The Problem of Pain (C.S. Lewis). It's been discussed (and an answer known) for 1,800+ years.

Good catch! The word theodicy is in the dictionary, and defined as ... "a system of natural theology aimed at seeking to vindicate devine justice in allowing evil to exist."

In looking that word up, I also looked for the word "idioticy" and it wasn't there; but "idiosyncrasy" was, and that's defined as "the temperament or mental constitution peculiar to a person or group."

Regarding the words ... "(and an answer known) for 1,800+ years," our God-given planet Earth has been around for 4.6 billion years.

G-d creates all things, including evil. It’s difficult to understand but G-d made it very clear that He is the Creator of all things and that no one shares His power and authority. That includes Satan,or HaSatan which means “The Satan”. We Jews do not believe Satan has any power equal to that of G-d. Giving G-d’s power and authority to another being violates the idea of monotheism. There were pagan religions who believed in a god who was in a constant struggle with an evil entity from the underworld.

When the messiah comes all the evils of the world will disappear. There will be no more war, famine, illnesses, etc. Clearly the messiah has not come. There will be peace on earth which has obviously not happened.

As I stated, only G-d has control. Satan, who esentially acts as a prosecutor like you’d see in a courtroom, cannot do a thing without G-d’s go-ahead. No one can work against G-d. The Satan you “believe in” is not the Satan we Jews “believe in”. When I say “Believe in” I mean the view of.

“Satan must of been pretty simple even according to the New Testament, or he wouldn’t of led Christ up on a high mountain and offered him the world if he would fall down and worship him.”

The most important part of this passage is what Christ did NOT say: “It is not yours to give”.

How can satan (Which means “prosecutor” in Hebrew) be the god of this world?

There is only ONE G-d and that’s the G-d of the Torah.

To say that satan has G-d’s power is polytheism, not monotheism.

G-d created this world so it is not totally evil.

You may believe that Satan is only a prosecutor. But let's look at the verse in 1 Peter 5:8 and see that Satan the Devil is called an adversary who is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Does a prosecutor drive so hard like a roaring lion seeking to devour? Your prosecutor model simply does not sound like only a prosecutor when we consider this verse which clearly teaches us that Satan the Adversary is much more than simply a prosecutor? In fact, Rev 12:10 highlights Satan more accurately in light of the prosecutor role, which he does perform IN heaven BEFORE God, falsely accusing Christian day and night.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your ADVERSARY the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Revelation 12:10 ...for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

So maybe your word etymology is the only consideration for word meaning, but sometimes that approach fails to take into consideration the CONTEXT of the topic. In proper Biblical analysis - context reigns supreme to word usage, individual words do not stand outside of context, but must be within contextual meaning.

I go only according to Torah so any verses from the Christian Bible have no meaning to me.

The Christian view of Satan has been taken out of context from the Hebrew Scriptures.

Do the research and you will discover that Satan DOES mean prosecutor.

The devil and Hell are pagan ideas,as is the idea that G-d has an adversary of similar powers and authority.
