ah yes :) And you know what was the strangest thing about that? After some time (well a year) people actually LISTENED to each other and figured out where the other was coming from. Then they realised what their differences really were (instead of the imagined differences) and accepted those differences. Conversation, even disagreements have been civil since them, God be praised!

Your response offers in evidence Benedict’s comments on a totally different topic, the loss of believers in Europe, not “religious freedom” and particularly not religious freedom due to government policy and particularly not with respect to the dominance of same such policies in Europe that he views as contrary to religious freedom in the U.S.
I am 100% sure that, as a professed “democratic socialist” Benedict does not view Obamacare itself, in general as an intrusion on our Liberty.
If Obamacare forces all citizens to pay for contraception and abortion, you can bet Pope Benedict XVI will not support it.
