ought not that box of perfume, had been sold and given to the poor
She was preparing me for my burial stated Christ looking intently into Judas soul; seeing that Judas past, present and future were suddenly revealed before the living Godhead, .a realization as stark as the pain of nails struck into his hands and feet.
JUDAS ISCARIOT, the first social justice advocate; Circa 33AD. The psychology and motivations havent changed, in other such persons even in this very day!
Now he [Judas Iscariot] said this, not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief, and as he had the money box, he used to pilfer what was put into it.
Thus, social justice is just code words for thievery.
“....Now he [Judas Iscariot] said this, not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief, and as he had the money box, he used to pilfer what was put into it. “
and....my point exactly!
You could say that. I would add that you should watch the motives who criticize others about how they spend their money.
I was just pointing out the eyewitnesses supported your supposition.
I had thought of expanding on the piece...showing Iscariot as making a mental calculation as to worth such as “would fetch 30 pieces of silver at the market...10 for me and 20 for the common box; they’d never know, not even HIM!”.
I had never done a vanity post before and I wanted to get the idea out there for comment. Thanx for viewing!
Jesus reprimanded him, and told him to butt out.
Sounds like the modern Democratic Party to me!
Good post.
I had never thought of the incident that way before, but it fits perfectly. Especially the part about Judas being a thief.
Not to mention a traitor, like most Democratic political leaders
I had this idea about the real motivations of so called “justice advocates” and I wanted some feed back to see if my ideas and feelings concerning many of them have any merit. I know not all such folks are evil at heart, and certainly our Lord has commanded us to be charitable. Yet I have in memory several such folk, one of whom was narrating and hosting a video shown in church, speaking very sneeringly of “rich American Christians”. I also see the continuing assaults on churches by so called “ do-gooders” who have decidedly secular motivations, saying you haven’t donated enough, you don’t care for minorities, you need to be more “missional”, yada, yada.
John 12:1-8 for full story and context!
1Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead. 2There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him. 3Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. 4Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, which should betray him, 5Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? 6This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein. 7Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this. 8For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.
Verses 7 and verse 8 are the killer verses for the biggest point I was emphasizing was that it was Judas Iscariot, the “social INjustice” accuser “that betrayed Jesus. I have the sense that many of these “social advocates” are working in ways that betray the faith of the churches they “serve” or wished to be “served by” as well!
“Thus, social justice is just code words for thievery.”
