WH: We Are Done Negotiating With Catholics
Creative Minority Report ^ | February 13, 2012 | Patrick Madrid

Posted on 02/13/2012 4:48:03 PM PST by NYer

The great and powerful Oz has spoken, 'negotiation' time is over, time for you to ditch your silly religious beliefs and do what we say.

Obama chief of staff: No more compromise, contraceptive rule is done deal

Despite renewed statements of concern by Catholic leaders, the Obama administration is done negotiating and will finalize its plan requiring insurance companies to provide free contraception to women working and studying at religious institutions, President Obama's chief of staff said Sunday.

Jacob Lew told "Fox News Sunday" that the compromise offered last week to address objections by the Catholic Church is clear and consistent with the president's "very deep belief that a woman has a right to all forms of preventive health care, including contraception."

"We have set out our policy," Lew said. "We are going to finalize it in the final rules, but I think what the president announced on Friday is a balanced approach that meets the concerns raised both in terms of access to health care and in terms of protecting religious liberties, and we think that's the right approach."
For all you Catholic liberals out there, this is how the Marxists you elected do 'dialogue.' I would say I told you so but...actually...

I told you so.

The only, ONLY answer is the complete destruction of the mandate and Obamacare. There is no other way.

So far it seems your church leaders are holding strong in opposing this, but your Catholic Charities embraced the “compromise”. Lets hope your leadership sees the error of embracing “social justice” policies using govt tax dollars and will inspire your members to vote out all Rats.

First check this site our

Rhabe’s comments should be reviewed

This was posted in Britebarts Big Government and compiled by Jason Pollak but the significance is that the position has nothing to do with “health” but with implementing a government policy

ObamaCare Architect: Catholic Institutions Should Provide Birth Control as ‘Moral Imperative’ to Stop Population Growth
by Joel B. Pollak Robert Creamer–Democrat strategist, Obama 2008 campaign aide, and political architect of ObamaCare–argues that the new contraceptive mandate for Catholic institutions isn’t really about equality for women, or religious liberty.

Rather, it is about population control.

Creamer–like his wife, the pro-abortion Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL)–embraces the left-wing fallacy that children are a burden on the planet, which the state should encourage the church–and everyone else–to limit.

At 6:16-7:03 in the video below, by CNS News, Schakowsky describes abortion as “most often” a “responsible decision” to control the size of their families:

Writing in the Huffington Post yesterday, Creamer declared:

…[T]here is a worldwide consensus that the use of birth control is one of society’s most important moral priorities. Far from being something that should be discouraged, or is controversial, the use of birth control is critical to the survival and success of humanity….It is simply not possible for this small planet to sustain that kind of exponential human population growth. If we do, the result will be poverty, war, the depletion of our natural resources and famine. Fundamentally, the Reverend [Thomas] Malthus was right–except that the result is not inevitable….That’s why it is our moral imperative to act responsibly and encourage each other to use birth control.

Malthus’s late eighteenth and early nineteenth-century views, which still inspire much of today’s environmental movement, have been repeatedly disproved over the course of two centuries. Economic freedom, growth and innovation have made human society vastly more productive and efficient.

It is precisely because radical socialists like Creamer, Schakowsky and Obama detest the free economy that they continue to rely on old Malthusian and Marxist ideas.

Regardless, the indication by Creamer that the contraception mandate is not about “equality,” but population growth, suggests that the Obama administration’s challenge to the beliefs of the Catholic church may be more direct–and deliberate–than was previously suspected.

My coment

Eugenics.,is a basic tenet of socialism which includes the whole range of the “isms”. The new religions created by Marx, Lennin, and Fascists that mandates its followers practice population control, through abortion or sterilization and of course “mercy killing”. By edict Obama has not just violated the constitution by imposing a set of practices and their accompanying expences refuted by a religious group but has also sought to impose a belief system which is a defacto religion on another religious group...The results of this edict has not only created deep divisions within the groups affected which begs the question of the intent of result by the edicts issuance.

Defenders of this action quickly point to the regime decision to do so as its right because they are recipients of government funds. Those defenders convieniently ignore the fact that members of the groups affected have originally contributed those funds and were exempted from paying such costs resulting from and observing such practices that are now imposed upon them by the Obama regime.

Obama knows what h is doing . He will rely of statist media to follow up remind their readers of past transgressions by peophiles...exploit the differences by the CINOS It is an attempt to divide the church.

That won't be a negotiation. It will be a summary dismissal.

I doubt it. They must have some interesting polling data that leads them to believe they won't lose the 55% of RC's that voted for them the first time. It would be great for America if they are wrong, but over the years I've seen a lot of FReepers claim the RCC is really conservative and I haven't seen it yet.

Look at how artfully the issue has been turned into a discussion about birth control and not State interference in churches, or that the birth control measures include abortion inducing drugs. Our enemy is a lot of things but he is not as dumb as we think, most women take birth control and would love to have someone else pay for it.

If you're going to paraphrase unreliable, unscientific exit polls with suspect methodolgy, at least get the number correct.

most women take birth control and would love to have someone else pay for it.

By the way, do you now or have you in the past, taken oral contraceptives?

Oh good.

Let every person of the Christian faith remember this day as the day Obama and the Democrats told them to go pound salt.

Thank you for bottom-lining the issue. It is easy to get sidetracked into discussions about voting, but here's the straight juice: this administration is now, without fear, showing an utter disregard for the 1st Amendment and the Constitution in general.

Of course I am aware that this will not be anything new to the members of the message board. No one here is likely to be surprised. However, the extent to which they are now demonstrating a complete lack of fear in their actions should give everyone of Judeo-Christian faith pause. They are upping the ante significantly.

JMHO.

"very deep belief that a woman has a right to all forms of preventive health care"

Since when is any form of health care a right?

Why preventative health care? Does that mean that the government should pay for my toothpaste and dental floss?

Why only women's health? Isn't that sexist?

How are morning after pills "preventive" with regard to the health of the woman? They are merely "preventive" of life for the unborn.

I have to give Obama and his minions credit for including that much nonsense in so short a sentence. He is really pushing the envelope on sheer idiocy.

Every village needs and idiot. Obama could qualify as every village's idiot!

I have friends who blithely claim that healthcare should be a right. I try to explain to them that when you create a “right” such as healthcare you, by definition, make slaves of those individuals who provide the product that is now considered a “right” (i.e., doctors, nurses).

In other words, if the government “creates” a “right” than it is something that must be provided — by gunpoint if necessary when the concept is taken to it’s logical conclusion.

Creating a “right” on one side of the equation creates slaves on the other.

I'd be willing to bet a majority of Catholics will vote for Hussein...yet again. He got 54% last time around, I bet he gets around that percentage again. Oh, it probably won't be white Catholics so much, he might even lose that demographic - but Hispanic Catholics love Obama and there is no way Hispanic Catholic women are going to vote against this latest birth control freebie.

Look at how artfully the issue has been turned into a discussion about birth control and not State interference in churches, or that the birth control measures include abortion inducing drugs.

This is what the Left does best. They redirect the argument, framing the points in a positive manner. And, sadly, the Right goes right along and enables them all the way. I can still remember my horror at watching FoxNews effectively do everything in their power to give away the last election. When "Joe the Plumber" asked his famous question which elicited a rare honest moment from Obama what did Hannity et al do? Did they hammer at the answer which demonstrated Obama's intentions and attitudes? Nope. Instead they kept inviting "Joe the Plumber" on in hopes of making him a new hero which of course only made it impossible to deflect all the personal attacks which came later. You cannot argue it isn't about him when you make it all about him.

People should have been able to see this future attack coming and prepared for it by keeping things constantly on the candidates mistake. Instead they did the opposite and lost the best opportunity to damage Obama going into the general election. The Right does this all the time and have constantly demonstrated that our worst enemies are invariably our own people. We must stop making it so easy for the Left to constantly control the debate. We must think ahead and anticipate the tactics our opponents are inevitably going to use and thereby be able to put the heat on them rather than always scrambling to defend our positions.

In ancient America, debate and negotiation took place while a bill was being written. In modern neo-Marxist Amerika, we have to pass a bill (using bribes in the Ill-Annoy pay-to-play tradition) before we're allowed to see what's in it.

Then the team of Czars at the White Crib issue fatwas and edicts that we all have to accept, follow, and take up as the undeniable dogma of the Party of Death. Get with it! It's a brave new world out there, folks.

The Bill of Rights and Constitution are valued like toilet paper (maybe less valued), since it is a charter of negative liberties as deemed by the current occupant of the White Crib.

I hope so... With the Jews, you will still see 50% voting for this dope.

50%? LOL. He got 78% of the Jewish vote in 2008 and there is no reason to think he won't win the vast majority of the Jewish vote in 2012. Hussein may not get 78% again, but he will easily win 2/3rds of the Jewish vote - probably more. The Jewish voting block is utterly hopeless, mostly not even worth reaching out to. Catholics will probably vote for Obama again, but that may be largely because of the increasing Catholic Hispanic vote. We can at least compete for the Catholic vote, the Jewish demographic on the other hand is nearly as lost as the blacks.

Of particular note, Obama has framed the argument as associated with protecting religious 'liberties', not 'rights'.

In Obama's thinking, the people are allowed to worship somebody other than him only because he allows that 'liberty'.

Well said!

I think the obama admn has some internal polling that leads them to believe they can win this fight and that's why they stopped backtracking. Somehow the argument has to be moved away from a discussion about the RCC and contraception and back to State interference in religious institutions. A majority of Evangelical Christians have been opposed to obama from the get go so it's really not going to matter what we say.

I know they are pretty liberal, but if they are a part of your church your leadership should have some say in what they do.

I knew someone who was related to senior leadership, and a lot of them are pretty anti-Catholic.

If they are so "anti" why do they get away with using the name? It's a real lame argument to say that someone in your church "really isn't a member" when they do things that are wrong. We have the same problem with liberal Baptists and liberal Non-Denominational Christians. Typically they leave because they can't stand the heat.
