Homosexual Protesters Call Cardinal ‘Arch Bigot’ for Opposing Same-Sex ‘Marriage’

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, February 13, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – As parishioners gathered for Sunday Mass, a radical group of homosexual activists protested outside Chicago’s Holy Name Cathedral, calling Francis Cardinal George the city’s “arch-bigot” for defending marriage.

Carrying placards and spouting slogans on the sidewalk as worshipers entered the sanctuary, members of the Gay Liberation Network instructed Catholics to “give up hate for Lent.”

David E. Smith, executive director of the Illinois Family Institute told LifeSiteNews.com the Gay Liberation Network is “a tiny group of radical activists who are trying to intimidate and name-call religious leaders like Cardinal George to try to coerce them into silence for standing up for God’s institution of marriage.”

The protests have been an annual event since at least 2005, he said. Last year, the group swarmed the cathedral as police did nothing. In 2005, the Gay Liberation Network protested Chicago’s famous Moody Church because its pastor, Dr. Erwin Lutzer, had written a book called The Truth about Same Sex Marriage. GLN called the 100-year-old institution, founded by famed evangelist Dwight L. Moody, “a house of hate.” Marchers then protested outside Cardinal George’s residence.

The war of words has heated up and tensions have mounted as the group has steadily increased its criticism of the Catholic Church. In late December Cardinal George told reporters, “You don’t want the gay liberation movement to morph into something like the Ku Klux Klan, demonstrating in the streets against Catholicism.” Cardinal George promptly apologized to the protesters for his remarks. GLN co-founder Andy Thayer did not accept, calling the cardinal’s remorse “totally inadequate.”

A series of political battles around the country have brought the protests to a fever pitch. “We’ve seen how homosexual special rights – whether they be marriage, civil unions, hate crimes laws, or non-discrimination...............

Guess what?

This story has a very wonderful ending. Neither justice, nor God, nor God's Natural Law will be mocked without a price paid.

Part of it involves the unmistakable overwhelming smell of sulphur bombined with the excruciating human cries of pain steeped in regret-too-late.

The sodomites are so out-of-control, they cannot see the hypocrisy of calling someone “bigot”, especially when, unlike the sodomites, the bishop adheres to the Word of God in this matter, not to mention common sense, biology, and reality in general.

There are somethings that are TRUE whether you like it or not, whether you believe it or not, whether you even know it or not, such as, it’s wrong to violate the natural plumbing of the sexes for homosexual perversion.

There are many folks that are born with a medically discernible predisposition to alcoholism. That does not give them the excuse to go through life drunk and disorderly.

Following God’s word and helping others to find their way to God is “hate” in the words of these bigots? We really need to stop permitting the anti-American, anti-Christian far left to define words. I can’t imagine anything more hateful than allowing someone with a body image problem, who doesn’t think of his leg as a part of him, to have his leg amputated because of a mental health problem. That is equally true for someone who wants his genitals (or her breasts) amputated. How have we reached a point where treating mental illness is “hateful” but embracing a denial of reality is compassionate. The same is true for homosexuality as for the body image issues of transsexuals - even ignoring God’s word as liberals like to do, it makes no sense to treat an unnatural behavior as if it was an unimportant personal choice.

Alinsky method of demonizing/humiliating your opponent.

And I say ‘opponent because it’s clear by their words there is no desire to do anything constructive with the bishops. They know that will go nowhere unless they find either a weak or sympathetic bishop.

This whole same sex marriage thing is gnawing on me...I am tired of it. IMO, only a completely secular state condones it. Our state has freedom to practice ones religion.

Our nations values are set upon judeo christian beliefs. Our declaration of independence, our founding document, cites there are certain unalienalble rights that come from god. Since marriage between a man and woman is considered sacred in religious teachings and a sacrament in others, IMO, same sex marriage is an affront to a state whose values are set on religious dogma. Clearly the intent of the first amendment was not to overrun religious morals. Furthermore, it was never intended, IMO, to be perverted into same sex marriage, an abomination under the mores of our beliefs.

FWIW, I have no problem with civil unions however marriage is something much different, it is an institution which carries the imperator of God’s law. Frankly, it also is a violation of the natural law of procreation but the secularists don’t seem to care.

So, I guess I would need to be painted with a superlative for “arch” bigot. Would that be most bigoted in the eyes of the fags, so be it.

——IMO, same sex marriage is an affront to a state whose values are set on religious dogma.——

True, but more fundamentally, same-sex “marriage” is simply irrational —a contradiction in terms.

Marriage is a lifetime commitment between a man and a woman for the primary purpose of begetting and raising children, in order that society continues to exist.

We already have words for lesser relationships, words like “friendship,” “lover,” etc. Marriage is a different category.

Now, why should the State be involved in regulating marriage? Two reasons: the State must arbitrate custody disputes and determine the fate of orphans. This duty to regulate marriage falls to the State because the State is the law-making aspect of society.

The objective of society is the “Common Good” or “General Welfare,” under which falls It’s own perpetuation, or the begetting and raising of children.

Yes, you are a bigot in the views of the gay activists.

Like many liberals, they over simplify issues and denounce anyone who disagrees with their radical agendas as motivated by hatred.

We see it on various issues.

With marriage, if you prefer marriage to remain defined as a man and a woman, you hate homosexuals.

If you oppose or question affirmative action, you are a racist.

If you oppose or question illegal immigration, you are similarly racist and bigoted.

If you oppose or question abortion policies, you hate women. Since abortion has been re-defined as a holy grail of sorts of women’s “rights” and women’s “health”, the left defines the debate so that anyone opposed is labeled a hater of women and their rights. So opponents of abortion on demand want women impaled on coat hangers.

If you oppose or question the whole global warming issue, you clearly favor polluted air and water. You want our children to drink water with arsenic in it.

And so it goes. Liberals have, unfortunately, been successful in defining how certain issues are discussed and how the terms of the debate are set up.

These homosexual protesters are wrong about MARRIAGE being a right. Marriage has NEVER been a right. MANY people can't marry: brother-sister, aunt-nephew, all those family types, already married (bigamy is against the law)...and it used to be that severely retared people couldn't marry--but I don't know if that's still in force.

So there!

Don’t forget opposing Sharia Law makes one an “Islamophobe”. Which reminds me, I’m waiting for these homonazis to start protesting at mosques about this issue so they can start battling with the Mohammedans about it.

Waiting.....

Still waiting......
