"If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." Romans 10:9-10
Awesome, wmfights.
Good News Ping!
You beat my ping.
Reading this I was reminded of Paul writing the Corinthians.
ICor. 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
(23) but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness,
I recall a letter to Dr. Billy Graham one time:
“Dear Dr. Graham. I’ve invited Jesus into my heart several times. So far he’s not shown up. What am I doing wrong?”
Dr. Graham treated this as a serious letter and went on to answer it. I laughed.
Because the truth is... There is more to being saved than by simply asking Jesus into your heart and praying the “Believer’s Prayer”.
What more does a Christian have to do to be saved other than believe The Gospel?

How about obeying it?
Big difference between believing it and obeying it.
And I think you meant to say what does a sinner have to do.
Do you know what a Born Again Christian is referring to when they say believe The Gospel?
Just curious..Exactly what is The Gospel to you?
Yes I do. It has something to do with water.
See John Chapter 3.
This article you posted? It mentions nothing about water or baptism. Therefore this article on being saved is very incomplete.
Thanks for the input. Great verse!
Man, I could be here all night answering that question!
And to pare it down to 25 words or less would not do it justice.
No this is not what a Born Again Christian is referring to when they say believe The Gospel.
The article does explain what we mean but two passages explain it pretty well. Roms. 10:9 and ICor. 15:1-4.
If you are of the opinion that more is involved you are not yet one of us, but there is always hope.

Luke 10:25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
Luke 10:27 He answered: “’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Seems sort of cut and dry to me. Unless you think Jesus left something out or got it wrong.
What is a christian?...
Just constructing a definition is a bit of dogma..
Did you read John Chapter 3 like I asked you to?
Here. I’ll post it.
John 3
Jesus Teaches Nicodemus
1 Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. 2 He came to Jesus at night and said, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.
3 Jesus replied, Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.[a]
4 How can someone be born when they are old? Nicodemus asked. Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mothers womb to be born!
5 Jesus answered, Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit[b] gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, You[c] must be born again. 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.[d]
9 How can this be? Nicodemus asked.
10 You are Israels teacher, said Jesus, and do you not understand these things? 11 Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. 12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? 13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaventhe Son of Man.[e] 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,[f] 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.[g]
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
more. much more....

Anytime anyone tells me they have been “Born Again”; I ask them if they know what that means? Nicodemus didn’t know. But I trust you do.
And as I said. It has something to do with water.
If so did it leave anything out?
As I said before this is not what a Born Again Christian is referring to when they ask if you believe The Gospel.
