The Catholic Church has seen many of the insincere fall away and this is part of the final purge of those who are not Catholic but haven't left.At least, that's the way I see it. The One Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church has a very important role to play in the future of this country and it's going to be whipped into shape to play that role. No more Cafeteria Catholics, no more Catholics in Name Only, no more politicians who vote for Abortion but claim to be Catholic, and no more people speaking on behalf of the Catholic Church when they're in any of those groups. That's what I think the end result of this will be. Maybe not overnight, but sooner than people probably expect

One would indeed hope it goes this way. There are plenty of churches I am SURE would love to take Catholics in Name Only who have no intent to rejoin the church and follow its tenents.
