You make a good point; different group of Catholics who are opposing the BC issue then the abortion issue.

My sis in law is an extremely devout Catholic, goes to Shrines, prays to the Saints, active in the Church, etc. Yet she voted for Obama. She said Presidents go to war, that is a form of murder, then there is capital punishment (she doesn’t believe in it)...I know, but this is how some Catholics justify voting for Obama, even though they are devout Catholics.

Your sister-inlaw is mentally ill. Her blind-spotting is an extreme form of denial and compartmentalization. Worse yet is using that as a justification for an evil act (voting for Obama). Yeah, I’m no paragon of mental health myself but it tends to make me more moral, not less.
